Not even sure if this is what they are being called or not or whether there has been much expansion in brewing these beers. I know Allagash’ Truepenny was outstanding (IMO). Ommegang made a good one as well. Right now listed as a German Pilsner but they use a Belgian yeast strain I believe. I don’t know much about the Italian ones (FW Pivo?) but I know there was forum discussion a few months ago on this topic. Are either of these worthy of style additions soon or still prefer to wait and see if they catch on more widespread?

Belgian Pilsners seem to ring a bell as having been developed (though called something else) in response to Pilsner Urquell. As for recent innovations, this is news to me.

Italian Pilsners do seem to be gaining traction. And do seem to be distinct from either Czech and German Pilsners. Maybe too soon to say: They have the qualities that will likely make them more prevalent with time. So I support the idea of getting ahead of the curve, if not actually listing them just yet.
