One of my most looked forward to festivals of the year is http://www.washingtonbeer.com/belgianfest/ February 2nd. I'm committed to the first session.
Local brewers use Belgian yeast to produce an amazing event. Guaranteed to sell out. Got yours?
Make sure you're covered before it sells out.
Terry, are you working it again this year?

Not sure if I'm working it yet or not, I should probably check on that. My favorite fest of the year for sure.

I'm coming up from the Bay Area for this (and The Sonics/Mudhoney show!) and can't wait! Attending the morning session. Very interested in meeting some Seattle BA's, message me if you want to hang for a bit at the fest. I'd love to learn more about the beer scene up there.

I'm also curious if anyone is excited about a particular brewery and/or beer that may have been announced (full list of breweries below). Are any of these breweries known for their Belgians? Any highlights from last year? Is this similar to Cheers To Belgian Beers in Portland, where all the breweries use the same strain of Belgian yeast?

    Cheers!

Definitely looking forward to those as well as Fremont, Big Time, Reubens, Justice. Disappointed that Epic Ales (WA) isn't on the list. They do some very interesting stuff.

Cody from Epic is finalizing his brewpub that should be opening next month and just hasn't had the time for fests. After it opens we should see more of his libations around at events.

Sound Brewery is known for their Belgium beers. All of them are exceptional. Hopefully they will bring their Monk’s Indiscretion. That beer is so damn good. I know they will bring their Dubbel and Tripel Entendre. Both are must tries.

I have much love for Sound Brewery. One of my favorites. But what I look for at this festival are one-offs not readily available. Those beers as good as they are, are easy to find anytime.

I agree with you but I was replying to a person not from here who wanted to know which brewery is known for their belgiums and that is Sound. Both their dubbel and tripel are must tries if you haven't tasted them yet.

Sadly I won't be able to attend this year (going to be at the Block 15 release), but what I remember most from last year's fest is how hammered I got. 10 tastings, which might have been 12 for WABL members, of high abv belgian style beers hit me hard.

The Elysian Rhubarbarella is fantastic. This version with the addition of strawberry should be even better! Making me jealous I won't be at this festival :slight_frown:
