Does Germany see any cantillon or 3f? Heading there in a few weeks and hoping I dont have to travel to Belgium. Thanks in advance for the advice! Cheers, josh
I think I overheard the neighbors across the street say their son is coming home for a week in a few days. He lives in Berlin. I might be able to hook him up with some Loons.
I plan on bringing german beers back from Berlin... Didn't figure I had to ask folks about finding beer from Berlin... In Berlin. Seems like that would be fairly easy to find a place that sells local stuff. Cheers, josh
Unfortunately, you won't find a bunch of places selling Belgian beers in Berlin. Again, it's unfortunate because most people think that Germany borders on Belgium, everyone must have and enjoy Belgian beer.....fact is, most Germans consider Belgian beer the Devil's Brew. You may find a specialty shop, but don't knock yourself out. And you won't find many Berliner Weiss beers in Berlin either. You'll understand when you arrive.
There are very few specialty beer stores in all of Germany. You may find one that carries Chimay, Orval, Rochefort and the like, but are almost certainly not going to see Cantillon or 3F. With all that said, I'm not expert on the retail scene up there. There is a BA member who runs a specialty store in the Wedding district of Berlin, but I've never been and don't know what he gets in. Perhaps he will see this thread and say hello. I think this is his place: http://www.hopfenmalz.de/the-berlin-beer-store/ I'd say "have fun", but in Berlin that's kind of a given.
Lol, I should have linked to the home page. OP, notice the beer on the left: http://www.hopfenmalz.de/
Do me a favor and report back on how you liked Berlin and whether or not you were able to get what you were looking for. Cheers!
