I just saw on facebook Belgiuminabox saying that they are suspending operations to the West Coast for the time being.

Has anyone recently got their euro box confiscated? I am in process of recieving a box from a trader in Belgium. Now this has me worried

    Dear US West Coast customers,

Customer satisfaction and happiness has and always will be Belgiuminabox' top priority.

It has risen to our attention that lately more and more shipments are seized to the US West Coast and being resent by customs service at LAX.

While we are searching for a solution, we can not offer our service at the level the Belgiuminabox customer is accustomed to. Therefore we will temporarily not sent any boxes to customers located on the US West Coast.

This Monday, a new Belgiuminabox.com newsletter will go out. We sent you this writing to let you know about the current West Coast issue at hand.

Currently, the only option for US West Coast customers is to use an alternative shipping address (friend, family or business on the East Coast, the North East, the Mid West or the South).
The temporally disabled states are: Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah and Washington.

Belgiuminabox.com regrets these developments in the shipping process greatly. Though we assume that many customers will understand why we made the decision to disable the affected states as delivery address.

We will keep you up to date as soon as we have more news at our disposal. In case you have any info or feedback regarding this subject, feel free to let us know.

    Speak to you soon!
    Kurt

So having solid trade partners in the east coast will come in handy. Ship your BiaB to the, and have them forward it to you will now be necessary it sounds like.

I had a box come in from a online retailer from Belgium last week and it got to me faster than any box I've had shipped to me.

Just had an order from Etre Gourmet get denied by US customs. The package was @ US customs for 45 days and then sent back to Etre. Etre was cool and is refunding my money for the beer, but not the shipping, which seems fair to me...but still sucks. The Etre rep that e-mailed me said they've been having some packages sent back from LAX (Los Angeles) customs recently.

Anybody else having these issues lately?

I've personally never had an issue with either Etre or BiaB (I'm about as East Coast as you get), but you're not alone with your shipping issues. It looks like BiaB won't even ship to the West Coast anymore, because lately so much of it gets stuck in limbo in LAX customs.... then gets sent back. This is from an email they sent out:

Apparently customs at LAX has decided to get super obnoxious lately, so I'd guess anything that arrives on the California and has to run through customs there is at risk.

Just got a private box from someone that shipped out from Brussels, Belgium. The box made it to NY customs, took about 3 days to clear and then got to SD with out a problem. On the box the shipper claim there where vintage glass bottles in side the box, it was double boxed, and taped over with tons of tape.

Sorry to hear this. This blows. If anyone on the east coast has or has had any issues like this I would like to hear about them as I order from Etre somewhat often.

Should be! Usually takes 1-3 days to make it from being inbound out of customs to on the truck out for delivery.

My recent order from BiaB sat in LAX customs for a little over 2 weeks and now is on its way back to Belgium. Before that, my last order in January went through LAX just fine.

    Damn that sucks man.

When you say it was in Customs, was it in bound out of customers or in bound into customs

A box (non-websales) went through Beth Page, NY then went overnight to Des Moines, IA which has since taken 4 days to get to Forest Park, IL. And now it has not updated with a departure from there in 2 days. Weird. Hopefully it gets here eventually.

Same here got my box from a trading partner, in my expriance, inbound in to customs means its in line to get inspected, inbound out of customs means its been inspected and now its waiting to go to bethpage ny usps sort facility where mine usualy ends up. Sometimes though USPS tracking sucks, Ive had stuff say its still inbound in to customs, then the next day its in SD on the truck out for delivery lol
