Belleville New Jersey Liquor stores

I grew up right across the river in Lyndhurst (since moved away) and anytime I needed to find some good beer at a liquor store, I head to Clifton and check out Stew Leonards on Rt3 behing TGIF's and Shoppers Vineyard on Bloomfield Ave, just after the Home Depot. As far as beer bars, the best spot is probably right up the Belleville Turnpike in North Arlington called Copper Mine Pub. Check out their selection on Beer Menus. Was going there for years even before it was the Copper Mine.

 

Growlers are really only bar only. Another good place is Wine and Beverage Depot in Totawa, about 15-20 min from you.

 

Liquor stores are starting to carry Growlers but it seems to be catching on more in South and Central Jersey (i.e. Joe Canals and others) then Northern. You can shoot over the NY border to Cable Beverage or Growler and Gill in NY State but it's a bit of a hike from Belleville and they don't always have something not available in bottles on tap (did pick up some War Elephant from Rushing Duck at Cable) Beverage Depot is good, but prices can be high. If you are going that far, you can also hit Gary's in Wayne or all the way out to Liquor Outlet Wine Cellars in Booton or some of the various better Bottle Kings, but in the immediate area, the Clifton Stores are best.
