So now we've got two co-op breweries in Washington. The real question is which one will be truly up and running first?

Yeah, I'm curious to see how these work out. BBL's general idea is to have 5 brewers at a time. Each brewery will be his own "brewery" and eventually leave BBL and be on their own. Then another brewer will take that spot at BBL. We've got some decent homebrewers around, it'll be interesting to see how things go.

Flying Bike has the brewers, it's everything else that is taking some time.

Yup, same with BBL. If it wasn't for paperwork and money, we'd be drinking beer by now.

Had some of Josh Smith's homebrew at a wedding. Great beer, scotch ale was astounding! Any more updates on the lab?

Oh fun! My gf had gone to the rehersal dinner and had some of his wood aged beers, she was in LOVE with the Orange Chocolate Stout. I am def expecting some great beers to come out of this coop, you are lucky to be able to be a part of it  Do you think you will be a member?

Yes. It's just a matter of finding the extra $150 to get in right now. I'll figure out a way, I'm sure.

Sadly, we won't be there. The gf and I just moved down to Portland a month or so ago and don't anticipate being in Bellingham anytime before the holidays.

So, there's an event this Saturday, which is the fundraising kick-off. For though, the interesting tidbit is the fact that Menace brewing will be serving beers at the event. This Nano out of Ferndale had some issues getting up and running, but apparently they are now. I'm looking forward to giving their beers a shot. Comrades! We just wanted to clear up some confusion about Saturday... Yes, it IS the co-op membership kickoff event, and it's going to be awesome! Here's the deal with Menace, though: technically, yes ALL of the beers on tap for Saturday are Menace Brewing beers, but they are "co-branded" with BBL. Since we (BBL) aren't licensed and don't have a location yet, we can't legally brew beer and/or hold a public beer drinking event like this without WSLCB throwing us in jail. Ben (Menace Brewing) has become a friend of ours and is brewing the beers for this event to our recipe specifications, packaging them, selling them to the restaurant, and we make literally zero dollars from it. BUT we get exposure and people get to taste what some of our beers might taste like once we've found a home and can brew and sell beer ourselves. Plus we don't get thrown in jail!

Ben is doing some nice work, that's why we asked him to help us out with this. If you haven't done so yet, you can taste his beers at Maggie's Pub in Ferndale regularly, and also out at The Fork At Agate Bay.

Look forward to seeing y'all on Saturday! Cheers!

I am excited for you guys to kick off the membership drive! I've been telling my non-BA and local friends about Saturday, seems like people are excited about it. Here's hoping for a great turnout/weather!!
