I went down to the brewery tonight and had a 12oz sample. It's an 11% imperial stout. Quite tasty as it is, and I'm sure it will improve with age. I picked up two sixpacks at $17 and change each (one to age, and one to share at Christmas time). Setting aside it's scarcity, I don't know if I'd pick it over an Expedition Stout in a blind taste test.

Anyone see this on beer store shelves yet. A couple of places told me to call and check Friday (tomorrow). Will this ship just one time, or will it keep coming for a little while?

Best temperature to serve? Can I store in the fridge for long periods of time? Or should I just shelf it?

We tried to order it this week(delivery was yesterday) but it's not at the warehouse yet. So by next week it should be on everyone's shelves.

Just drank one, good stuff. Nothing crazy, but it's a solid stout, and it should age well

I'd be interested to hear how this compares to Expo, which is one of my favorite stouts.

I think it's pretty close to expodition, but I haven't had an expo in a while. Worth doing a side by side

Planning a side-by-side this weekend. Hop profile is a little lighter on the anni ale and a little more malt. If you think expo is a little on the hoppy side for you, you'll love anni ale.

I had one last night out of the bottle and the alcohol hits you on the front end. Very hot. It needs some time to age and metllow out.

Just hit shelves this morning in Ann Arbor at Plum Market. They only received 4 cases. One 6-pack limit. I got one and I had my wife get one.

I just went to the brewery yesterday (1 case limit/person, I went with the GF but didn't get greedy and have her buy a case), I thought it tasted exactly like Black Note less the bourbon barrel aging. The presence of alcohol is very noticeable, 100% agree with sullisha up there, it could use a little time to mellow out.

I am surprise by how many people I see call this beer "hot". Yes, it is 11%, it is going to be boozy but I found the beer to be very smooth and quite well rounded for such a young beer. No more heat than comparable beers.

The 30th Anniversary has a much more subdued hop bite than Expedition. You really have to start looking at a two to three year old Expedition to see similarities. The beer reminds me more of fresh Batch 9000, though a bit more stouty and balanced, a more complete beer at a comparable age.
