I got so lucky as to head into Whole Foods near Churchkey on Monday morning. Started talking to the beer buyer and kicking the shit for a while. The selection there was obscene so I was going nuts trying to figure out what to put in my suitcase (ended up with 4-pack Troegenator, 1 Cisco The Woods, 1 1 Morning Wood, and a 4-pack of Stoudt's DIPA) and the guy insists I get the BK Brewery Wild and offers it at a STEEP discount. Then he walks me over to the bar and sets me up with a flight of Goose Island Minx, Perennial Sump (phenomenal), Great Lakes Tripel Dog Dare, and DC Brau Everyday Junglist. As I'm sitting there at 10 AM sipping at a flight while customers are shaking their head in disgust at my apparent alcoholish, he pulls out a DFH 120 and the Bell's Black Note. Of course, I had to buy.

Long story short, they had bottles at the Whole Foods on Monday and that store is awesome, as is the beer guy (name was Randy).

Also, DC's beer scene/selection was awesome.

My bottle shop got a case of it and limited purchases to one bottle. Fine by me, I'm just very happy that I'll finally get to try it.

Yeah it was a pretty steep price to pay, but Station House is a bar and not a bottle shop, so youre going to be paying a premium based on that alone. But them charging $44 for Imperial Biscotti Break is a total ripoff. Didnt bother with the various Whole Foods as most of them get wiped out pretty quickly these days.

He got 5 cases of KBS. I can still buy KBS because my shop owner only sells it to his customers and never people who come from the outside to stockpile

I'm just trying to get a sense of how tough the Black Note market will be by comparing it to the KBS market. I was able to get 2 single bottles of KBS, one at my local shop, and another that was still available where I got Black Note last week.

My guess is that it'll be roughly the same because NYers are not accustom to chasing BN and it did arrive unannounced

I heard that Chicago is getting some BN, but not a lot. Bells rep told me that the Bells shop in Kalamazoo got 25% of the total amount, 25% for the rest of the state, then the other 50% was sent throughout the country. So, MI is the place to be.

This may absolutely be the case. I spoke with the beer purchaser for one my local bottle shops in the Western Suburbs of Chicago, and they got their single case of KBS three days late. It was sold in singles and sold out in 5 minutes because the distributor's truck was followed from the warehouse. The lengths that people go to hoard beer is rather pathetic.

Saw the truck chasers post. Truck chasers equal people too dumb to find a good local brewry. Plenty of event horizon hop drp and old hickory imp stout this year. Now if wicked weed could mass distribute to charlotte year round on sours
