You did well, then. The only beers in this category I like better than Black Note are BBPT5 and BCBCS. Although, let's be honest here, we're talking about whether we prefer an Italia 458 to a GT3.

I will not give you a hard time about that opinion.

Personally, BA Cherry=BA Expedition>BB9K=Black Note. It is extremely close, all very good beers but I think Bell's does have a few beers better than Black Note. All that said, still stacks up with the best of em.

It's quite bomb, they should make more and/or send more out to other states.

The place I work got something like 130 cases of hopslam yet only 1 black note. Northern VA.

They may have changed the mix. Now it says the blend is 50/50; at some point in the past, it was 70% Double Cream and 30% Expedition. So it may depend on when it was bottled.

I have heard early batches had different ratios but since it has been bottled all of the official comments from Bell's I have ever seen state the 50/50 blend.

I have plenty of 12oz left. Truly a great BA stout.

For me it was too thin bodied, roasty, and the bourbon was more present than I like. It was decent, but not what I look for in an Imperial Stout/ BA Imperial Stout.

Was able to try Black Note at Savor Craft, and it is a very good beer. As other have posted, it is a much more mellow BA stout, though it is very rich and creamy.

    BA9K >> BN >> BCBS = BBPt5 > KBS > Parabola (still waiting on BA BO)

Couldn't believe when I did my first blind, side-by-side tasting with BN and KBS- BN blew KBS out of the water and I was expecting (even wanting) the opposite to be true.

Recently had a blind tasting of BBPt5, Black Note, and BCBS.
BBPt5 won unanimously, BCBS barely edged Black Note for 2nd.

I must be the only person who doesn't love BB9K like the masses.

Had BN on tap at Bells, it immediately became my benchmark for BA beer.

I got to try it on draft during Philly Beer Week. It was was like black forest cake, not gooey chocolate just dense and perfect. Maybe the densest (in a good way) stout I've ever had? Closer to food than Parabola. Smoother than Bourbon County. Less licorice than Abyss. I'd have to have again to decide if it's my favorite, but I do know that I loved it.

I would take Black Note over BB9K.... but I would still take BB9K over KBS.

    BBPt5 over everything!
