I’m hoping that the trend of non-pastry BA stouts sticking continues. Look at beers like Deth’s Tar, Black Note, and regular BCS. I’m sure this will be sought after, but now that I think about it, I’m honestly not sure of the last non-adjunct stout that people have gone nuts for, in terms of chasing.

Medianoche is because of the adjuncts that the variants have. It gives the base a good name (not saying it's a bad beer on its own, just saying that's why the hype).

Maman is because it's Perennial, and they use the same base for all of their stouts as far as I know, so that makes sense in the same way as Medianoche.

If only. I didn't say those weren't good beers, for the record, but come on, we all know non-additive BA stouts aren't really the draw they used to be, and the ones that are highly-sought are that because of what brewery they come from.

I couldn't be happier with the lesser hype because a lot of the time, they're my favorite, too.

I bet you’re fun at parties.

Sometime posting on this message board is the equivalent to writing in computer code. If you don’t lay out every scenario in explicit detail, someone will be there to go full comic book guy.

Local place by me still has at least a case of SR-71. Can't give them non-adjuncted stouts away!

Those all look like under-filled garbage beers.

If there's enough of it to go through a bottling line, it's not very good.

    Not worth chasing.

    Probably not even tasty.

    Don't waste your time.

I'll take one for the team, sample, and letcha all know if you should go out and pick it up off the shelf.

Watching that video that was posted yesterday, it seems like a ton of it was bottled...

They said the cursed R word in the first line of the tweet so that should confirm for everyone that this will not be easy to get.

The tweet said 'A rare sight on the bottling line' in that Bell's does not package the beer often. That's completely different than how hard or easy a given release is to obtain. Larry has already mentioned they have about 350 bbls of the beer.

Yeah, it should be right around 57,750 beers or so, if they're standard barrels. Standard barrels hold about 165x 12oz pours. There will be quite a bit around it seems. I can't imagine retailers will break up the 4 packs, either. That's about 14,500 four packs going out. That's quite a bit of beer.

If Im interpreting this correctly, its more. A barrel is 30 to 31 gallons. So 330 or so 12 oz bottles per barrel.

I was just going off what a standard "keg" you buy at the store would be, as opposed to a full barrel in brewery terms. So yeah, you're right. So it's almost 30,000 four packs going out in their distribution network. I don't think it will be as hard to get as some think, and I doubt retailers break it up into singles. That's a lot of beer.

Another thing that in our favor (at least in my area) is pastry stouts are so popular, the majority don't want a stout unless there are adjuncts.

Maman is not the base stout for those Perennial stouts, this is:

I assumed @LarryBell was talking about the number of bourbon barrels (53 gallons) they filled with this beer, which would come close to doubling the estimated yield.
