I picked up some bb cherry stout and one of the bottles does not have a hand written number on it. It has some numbers stamped but the others don't. Any idea on why this is or what it may indicate? I know its trivial but It just made me curious. Thanks !!

I can't see the image you posted but I had the same question. I have one with the stamp and no bottle number and one with the info written in pen. They have the same batch number, 11600, but I was thinking they could have been bottled at different times. Just a guess.

So... Anybody ever conclude this conundrum? I have one thats obviously computer stamped without a specific bottle number and one hand written with a silver ink sharpie. I'm sure they taste the same and it's interesting that others have found one of each as well

Maybe contact Bell's directly. It's just crazy enough to work...

I bought my two directly from the general store and both had the stamp instead of hand written numbers. Some were hand written, some were stamped, all same beer

The 750s are all hand labeled and bottled. My guess is that one was simply missed. After a few hours of rather tedious work, you can't really be too surprised.

I'd imagine bells is big enough to have to split their packaging work into shifts. So, could it be that two different crews packaged off the same brite to finish off the bbcs, and one of them turned on the date encoder?

Its definitely more than "just one" that was missed as I have 2 that are without numbers as well.

    This^^
I bought 2 from the General Store that were hand numbered then a couple of days later I grabbed 2 more from the General Store & neither was hand numbered, they had the stamp. My brother also grabbed 2 directly from Bells & 1 was hand numbered & the other was stamped so at some point they quit hand numbering
