Have seen the same myself. And a local shop posted yesterday that they got more Hopslam. I’m fine with oversupply; it’s good beer and make it easy to get. I really don’t like hunting beers...

The new hazy double IPA is called Incessant. It is scheduled for release April.

Also - Double Two Hearted will be available again in August.

Its honestly been a shelf turd here in Chicago since about 2017. Once they upped the production of it, places started ordering so much then price gouging ($20+/pack). That, along with the haze craze kicking in, 6 packs just sat on pallets to age not so gracefully.

Same in WI. I remember seeing it at stores into the summer months.

Thanks...I knew it started with an I, but couldn't remember anything else. I will be interested to see how Double Two Hearted goes over this year. I feel like a lot of people got it last year to try it, and I thought I recalled seeing a decent amount of people say they didn't care for it. Seemed like a polarizing beer. I enjoyed it myself, though.

I enjoyed Double Two Hearted too but I think it tastes best when its consumed within two weeks of being bottled. Fan-Fucking-Tastic on draft as well!

what a difference 3 years makes! I'm sure we all know countless guys who drove around for 6 hrs hitting up every Jewell/Binnys in a 25 miles radius to get CBS..the bar in Four Lakes has had it on tap for a month now, and Jewel had bottles for like 5 months.

I remember really liking the draft version from 2 years ago and thinking the bottles last year were good but not as good as I'd remembered the draft.

Hopslam is so very good. Getting more and more difficult to find huge Double IPA's that are traditional and not "juicy" or "NE style." Love that the price-point was reduced this year, definitely snapping up a few 6 packs if I can find more. Schaumburg Binny's was at 2 cases yesterday.

Plenty of cases of CBS available at Target as well. There’s a sentence that would have confused the hell out me 3 years ago.

Anyone else miss the hopslam bottles? I just thought they looked great, and I loved keeping the caps.

Wait a few years once the trend goes back to bottles.

Those things are the worst. When drinking It doesn’t really matter to me. I always pour into a glass.

That’s one trend I don’t see coming back, at least not due to consumer demand.

I wonder what beers that are hyped now will be just sitting on shelves for months 3 years from now?

I think the average consumer tends to see bottles as superior. I’m not talking about beer nerds like us, but the average consumer.

Bottles do look fancier and most of the time you get a cool cap to use for some later "project" but cans are superior with the better seal and no transparency. Also I assume canning is cheaper to "bottle" and to ship due to the lower weight, not to mention much easier to smuggle on the mountain or links.

I’d say the average consumer doesn’t care about a better seal or transparency. They’re buying most of their beer to be drank the same week they buy it, and not holding onto it like us beer nerds. So, they seem to prefer the thing that looks fancier.
