If you still have cans left, try pouring half the can w/o disturbing sediment... and then after drinking that (or in another glass) pour the remainder of the can with all of the sediment.

Wondering if you'll find that both pours have that same "sharpness" you've noted.

It would be interesting, but what does that say about the new brew since I never decanted that way in the past.

And my first few (delightful) Oberon experiences were from draft -- way back when.

Gave this experiment a test and yeah -- the careful pour, sans sediment (what there is in Oberon) tasted smoother, softer, and more like past Oberon I've enjoyed.

The final pour was more sharp, drier, and less bready than the careful pour.

But to me, this just begs the question "Why?" I've never decanted Oberon without pouring the whole container into my glass and always appreciated it each spring. What's changed?

We are now living in more challenging times.

Or, it may just make me avoid Oberon from now on. Sorry New Bell's.

I finally had a regular Oberon today, and it was the regular taste experience that I'm used to. I had it on tap at the Eccentric Café, so it should be very fresh. It had the same amount of haziness as always, and no sediment at the end. It almost seemed mellow.

I have Oberon PTSD from the cans. Probably not going to go near one again.

I believe their anniversary is in September. Saw one old video with Larry - maybe 19 Sep? Looks like 35th anniversary beer was packaged on 09/03/20 so seems to align. This is assuming they release this beer in the same manner. 30th anniversary beer seems to have been packaged in May 2018 fwiw.

Doh! Yeah I was looking at some other Bell's beer and wasn't accurate. 30th was packaged on 8/27/15 so aligns with the 35th dating too. Sorry.
