Seekabrew still doesn't list Bells in CA, but I've definitely seen it around at various places. Anyone know of any LA/OC/IE stores that get bells regularly? I actually found a bunch of Oberon and Two Hearted at a World Market, but it was unrefrigerated and like 3-4 months old :slight_frown:

Yeah, but cans of Two-Hearted at BevMo were dated 7/29/14, pass.
Don't know if we're getting old shit, or if it just sits. Either way, too bad.

Does anyone know if Expedition Stout has hit shelves or will begin hitting shelves soon?

It hit shelves a couple of months ago, no idea if there's still some lurking around.

Any idea how much a sixer was going for?

I think it was roughly $18.

Thanks y'all. I think I'll be in SD this weekend so hopefully I can find a sixer.

KnB in Sorrento Valley (off Scranton) had about a dozen 6packs in their fridge area a couple days ago. They had a limit 1 sign posted for anything Bell's though. I did not check the bottle dates but they had quite the selection.

Giving the term "midwestern shelf turd" a whole new meaning.

Was in Total Wine in Rancho Cucamonga today and they had Simtra in the fridge dated early July. A Heretic Evil Cousin DIPA on the shelf was bottled in 2013! These days it doesn't matter what shop it is, unless it's a special/seasonal/rotating release that geeks can clear off shelves super fast, it'll sit. Prime example, Sculpin is a very popular beer, pretty much everywhere. There are tons of places in which you will find less than fresh Sculpin. Tons of Ponto and Swamis in Total Wine and Whole Foods that in less than 2 weeks will be 2 months old. And they will still be there.

They might expand a little north.

I have to agree with this. I love Noble's Big Whig but I haven't had one in months. It's hard to find fresh and there are tons of great rotating/seasonal beers tugging at my wallet anyway. There are lots of other examples of this and I'm sure it's true everywhere.

It's incredibly abundant. I'm curious to know how well they're doing out here. I don't think there is a single Bell's beer I'd grab over an equal or better California/West Coast beer. Maybe Kalamazoo Stout or Java Stout? Maybe Oberon?

I hope they are doing well. Would love to see them in Northern California. I'd keep two hearted in the fridge at all times if possible.

After drinking Two Hearted for years back east and loving it, I had it last summer and it did nothing for me. Kind of a bummer.

Two Hearted for me is just a really solid drinking beer. Nothing amazing. It's right in that area occupied by SNPA, Torpedo, Racer 5, Lagunitas IPA...
