Bells Distro in CA

Exactly, which is why I would like to have it in my fridge all the time. (Just like I also always have some Sierra Nevada, Lagunitas, etc...)

I don't understand why Bells has to be anything more than a great workhorse beer. My good friend rejects them outright for being boring, I celebrate them for being a super solid dads-fridge banger.

 

I bought a few 6ers of Two Hearted when it first hit here and it was fresh and I enjoyed it. I also bought some of their Stout at the same time, enjoyed it as well. When at Bevmo the other day, I saw the same date codes on the shelf as when it first hit here, so what is that.....6 months old? I'm going to pass on any IPA sitting on the shelf 6 months even if its a local.

 

I like bells because they fit really into a great mold... they have their everyday line up and also do some really killer special beers... Breakfast Stout, KBS, etc...

Sierra is getting back to that I think, with their special BA releases (Torpedo, Maple Stout, Narwhal, etc).

Lagunitas doesn't do that so much, neither does Bear Republic.

 

You're thinking Founders, mang. Bell's is similar though with a solid regular lineup and good specials like Black Note and Hopslam, tho a lot of people think the latter is overrated.

 

Yep... my bad. I think of Founders and Bells very similarly!

Agreed, the KBS in my fridge needs a friend.

 

Why stop there?!? What about HF, Surly, The Alchemist, Toppling Goliath, and Lawson's? Kidding.

Bell's is great and I'm excited to get their beers here, but I'd do backflips if Founders finally distributed out here. I haven't had a single beer by them that I didn't really like whereas about 1 in 3 Bell's brews I've had were just OK.

 

I wish we could be Bells and Founders in NorCal. My suitcase is filled with both every time I head back from the MW.
