Does Bells Expedition Stout ever trade around here? Picked up a 6 pack and paid like $16. I don't intend on trying to trade this one, i'm just curious on if it ever gets traded. I see this one pop up on the "What beer are you drinking" posts so thought I would give it a try. I plan on adding them as extras on trades seeing as Bell's doesn't distribute out West.
10 pages of posts say otherwise.... http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/search/30429211/?q=Expedition+Stout&o=date&c[node]=25 Just wondering if any ever get made.
I only went through half of those pages but not one was ISO: 2014 Expedition So like I said....no. Hold it for several years & maybe someone will search for it
It's definitely a good extra (I bought some when I was in NY to use as an extra for IP trades since I always find that challenging since theoretically my trade partner has the same distro as me). As far as trade "bait" it would go for similar locals but it's pretty widely distributed. If I didn't regularly travel to NY which gets Bell's I might be willing to trade Jack's Abby or other similar local shelf beers for Expo.
I noticed that. Since it's new do you only get year rounds? Or are there also seasonals and specials shipped there?
Just sit on it for few years and drink it. Better yet, start working on a vertical. Expo is a vastly underrated RIS (i.e., chasers chase the newest & shiniest RIS) & for my mind let it stay that way. No trading necessary.
Agreed - keep it and drink it. Expedition is one of my all-time favorites and a killer RIS. Also, $16 for a 6 pack is a steal. It sells for about $22-$23 near me (NYC and Philly, since Bell's doesn't distribute in NJ).
Have traded for a 6 pack of Expedition the last 3 years. Not available in my market and a great beer for a Tuesday night. I have to assume there are more people out there like me that would gladly give up a shelf/semi-limited bomber up for a six pack of exceptional stout not available to them.
