You can blame/ or thank Chicago for that.....I remember reading about some sort of secret society, Black Note Secret Society?....The Brotherhood of the Bell? wait no, that's a movie....Bell's Secret Society? maybe.

Good luck with that #....don't expect them to be precise....specially for a Limited release.

    1. There hasn't been anything "limited" in a while.
    2. They are usually forthcoming with any information they have at their disposal, but don't expect them to know more than the information they have available to them.
    3. Asking for a complete rundown of everything in their cooler probably is not going to happen.
    4. Nearly all releases are announced on social media sites, not as big of a secret as some make it out to be.

I know, I totally agree....social media and this website is probably your best bet....keep an eye on this GL forum...someone will post when the time comes....even if there nothing special at the Gen store, there's always a solid draft list at the Eccentric Café(usually updated).....its always worth the trip to Bells

Many thanks. Figured as much, but didn't know if they were deliberately hiding (in plain sight) the list like FFF.

Except for when I posted 750's of black note were available a while back on twitter and you messaged me to say those were really only meant for locals and was intentionally not announced for this reason.

Upset about this? I looked back at my DMs, I thought we came to an understanding.

For clarification, I did not state or even infer releases were only meant for the locals. My point was that Bell's starts with a quiet release intentionally. Once word gets out about bottles it can easily turn into a shitshow and with their location they are really not set up for that kind of traffic. They eventually announce all their releases but the delay is very intentional.

You mean how after bell's pulled out of the illinois market and they were selling the beer for a discount if you showed your FIB driver's license?

Love the anger that people express when they don't know what Bells is doing!

    Get over yourselves....it's just beer.

Were you admonishing him for posting about a release because "it was supposed to be silent?" That's some entitled shit.

For what it's worth, I happened to be going through GR when the 750s were released. I called the store to ask if they had them in that day and was told they didn't. Still stopped in and the fridge was well stocked with them. Delaying an announcement about a new release is one thing. Blatantly lying to your customers over the phone about what's available is abhorrent.

Only one way to solve this problem...Stop supporting Bell's.

(leave the beers for the locals)

Sounded like he was just doing some Good Samaritan work since the store isn't set up to handle that sort of traffic.

Nope. I believe his original comment had something to do with "I can't believe this has not been announced". I responded back that this was by design. I got my bottles and I was happy, there was nothing for me to gain by it staying quiet. I know many people at Bell's and I know how they prefer to run a release and I respect that. A lot of assumptions going on from people who were not involved in the conversation based off one misleading response in the thread.

I will not say that the employees have not lied to customers over the phone, it could very well happen. I do know that the employees in the store are not always privy to the details regarding a release, they may not know about it until it shows up in the middle of the day. As much as its possible that you were lied to, it may be just as likely that it was not there when you called but showed up before you arrived.
