Everyone deserves a fair shot at acquiring the beer. Black note secret society sounds entitled and douchey. Black list me Otis!!!

BNSS isn't either of those things. Larry Bell intentionally releases super limited beers silently so that the residents and locals will get it first and foremost, and there's a general unspoken rule that the locals keep it between themselves, and those that let it leak are frowned upon. God forbid a brewery and it's regulars/locals actually put "local first" into practice.

dont get me wrong, i like the idea of keeping things quiet but thats only because im able to get the info before word gets out and go get my beer. not everyone has that going for them so a clue almost 2 full days after they went on sale seemed reasonable.

i hate that beer releases become shitshows and people abuse the system will mule a case of it but there are good people that deserve the option to make the drive and grab a couple bottles.

and yes i totally get this. the way Bells does this is my most preferred method of releasing beer. at the same time i love Bells but live almost 3 hours away. i try to get out there as often as i can whether or not there is something special for sale or on tap. do i not deserve to know about this beer because im not a local?

One thing you don't seem to have is a Ferocious sense of humor. There was nothing threatening about my PM to you. If this is all beneath you then why do you keep posting here? It's just beer right? Rearrange your Pipeworks bottles to de-stress or something.

    Sincerely BNSS

Of course not, I'm not naive. But muling isn't exclusive to Bell's silent releases, and everyone knows that. That's an entirely separate conversation/topic.

No, you don't "deserve" to know about this beer. Neither do I. You love Bell's and you visit the brewery whenever you can. Great. So do thousands of other people. Larry doesn't have a reminder set in his calendar to track down everyone who buys his beer and visits his brewery on a regular basis to personally inform them that a special release is dropping.

its not really separate. People get upset when word gets out because they want more of the beer and dont want certain people to have it. they dont want out of towners to get any but are fine with buying as much as they can afford. to be fair, i would absolutely buy more than 2 bottles if i lived closer.

maybe deserve is the wrong word. im not asking for larry to do anything, i love the way he releases the special stuff. im just asking for people not to get all upset when other people get the chance to buy some of the beer, especially after they most certainly got their allotment plus more.

i see both sides of the situation and lean more towards it being kept quiet but i dont think its a foul to let people in on it after some time passes. as long as the locals have all bought at least 6 bottles of course.

And you guys did get first crack, hell its still sitting in the store despite this terrible development of leakage. So when would have BNSS been ok with the rest of Michigan and the surrounding areas knowing?

They have certain beers inside the General Store available for growler fills. Yesterday they had Oberon, Two Hearted, Berry Ale and Mercurial Belgian Style Ale.
