Bell's Hopslam (2014)

My restaurant got the keg in today. So did the liquor store in town. Winfield Illinois ( near Wheaton western suburbs)

 

If you have Busch's around, they have it for 15.99. I'm about to get my 3rd case..

 

I don't think I'd ever buy a case of this stuff when there's Sucks for less than half the price. I still need to try it, so I'll probably get a sixer.

I'm in the same boat. Gotta try it. If it's that much better than Sucks, then I'll get another 6 if it's left.

 

I love Hopslam, but that's my thinking too. I like Sucks more, and it's $12 per six pack around here vs $18-$22 for Hopslam. I'll get a 6 pack of it because it is great beer, but no need to get a case this year like I did last year before we got Sucks. They aren't comparable beers other than both being IIPAs, but Sucks satisfies that hop craving just fine.

 

Last week at my town's Busch's they had a big pyramid of cases and 6s of Hopslam. I bought 3 cases. I went back the next day to actually grocery shop and the pyramid was gone. There was just a small table with some 6 packs. I asked what happened. They said they had to pull the display and make it a 2 6pk limit so I bought 2 more 6s.

 

Hopefully Hop Slam in MN next week. Long time waiting.

 

Yeah they had to enforce a limit otherwise only a few people could pull what you did and not nearly as many people would get a chance at this beer.

Yup. It was right place, right time. I don't feel guilty or bad. There's plenty of times I've missed out because of being later than someone else.

Oh and I'm not saying you should feel guilty or bad necessarily just that the store had to. I mean for all I know you're gonna share them with friends, family, neighbors, trade some or whatever else too. I know how you feel. I've missed out on releases before and then when I've seen them I wanna get as much as I can haha.

 

Sitting here at this very moment sipping our very first Hopslam...ever. BOOM.

Same here. Just picked up 2 six packs @ $17.21 each. I love IIPA's and this is a very good beer but... At this price, this is a once a year six pack purchase.

Definitely agree there, but I would say it is worth the experience. Having lived in Michigan for a year now, and missing out on it last year, we are very happy to have finally snagged this guy.

 

Roger that... On I'm my second bottle and starting to warm to the slam...

 

Any recommendations/thoughts on how long hopslam will stay fresh? Trying to decide how much to obtain. Thanks.
