Bell's Hopslam 2016

Drinking one right now and it's warming a bit so the sweetness is really coming through. I like the sweetness as well as it balances the long lasting bitter finish. If I had to name a beer with a similar sweetness, it might be Chillwave.

Any sightings of this anywhere in Michigan right now? I would like another six pack if possible

Available as of Feb 1 here in Cincinnati. I bought 4 6pks, but the minikegs were gone before I could get one. Glassware also available for $10

 

Can't wait to hopefully try this tonight! It will be on tap at the place right near my house at 6 pm. Hoping I can get there in time.

Just picked up a six-pack in Minneapolis yesterday. It's better this year than it was the last two years. I'm enjoying one right now as I write.

 

Getting a case in Athens, GA tomorrow for $53. Couldn't pass it up.

 

I know one single place that gets Bell's in the Bay Area, so will be looking there for sure. Hoping to sample this one

I bought this once again but I just don't get the rage. It's a good beer, yes. I have no problem drinking it but it never crosses my mind when I think favorite DIPA

I also think this year is my least favorite I've tasted. Don't wanna get too down on it but for being held in such high regard and having such a demand, nothing about this blows me away

Had my first Hopslam of the year last night. Was excited to see how it was from a can. Obviously it was enjoyable, but it was hard for me to get a solid reading. Probably because it's been a years since I've had it, but part of me wonders if it's not just a little too young still.

 

Hopslam went on sale today at 9 AM at a llocal distributor (case only sales), who also distributes to the entire area as well (Shangy's in the Lehigh Valley). I was a little more than surprised to see AT LEAST 50 people in line at 8:45 in 33 degree weather...for Hopslam. Does this not seem ridiculous? Looks like a $5 single can is in my future!

 

I like this years better than the past couple.

I got to have this on draft last night! It was not nearly as sweet as I was expecting. Very good, but maybe a little over-hyped. Not sure I would pay $18 for a 6 pack. I definitely would love to have it again though.

 

Doesn't really taste any different to me than it did last year or on draft.

Youth, however, would imply that you like to get more of the honey flavor rather than the upfront bitterness.

 

Any sightings in MA? Does this even make it out here?

 

I am loving this year's better than last year; tap is best but still great from the cans
