For some reason I remember last years being pinier. But not all that different. Love it and I've been lucky enough to find it twice here in the Detroit area:slight_smile:

Canned is cool. Even better that it's the freshest ATL has ever received it. Canned on 1/28/16, and purchased on 2/3/16. Less than one week!

I'm drinking one right now as a matter of fact. This year's is good as, if not better than, any other year I've had it. But it's essentially the same beer it's always been.

Some people seem to be disappointed, and I'm not sure I understand why. Sometimes, I think people are looking for enlightenment in a glass and overlook the great beer that's in front of them.

It's pretty damn good, I think. Not a world-beater to me, and not even really worth ~$18 a 6 pack, but good.

What surprised me is how fresh the store I got it from was. Normally, MD distributors let their stock of newly-arrived beer veg in the warehouse for a couple weeks before deciding which store gets what - not with Hopslam, though. The batch I picked up yesterday was canned 2/3/16. Literally the freshest beer I've EVER saw in a MD store. :grimacing:

I'm cheap too so nothing wrong with that.

I saw it for $22.99 today before tax and deposit. But I won't be purchasing that since another store has Green Flash Palate Wrecker for $13.99 a sixer, which I personally think is a far superior beer.

Just had a few last night. I really enjoyed it. It was $20 for a six pack. Way too much for this beer. There are too many great beers out there for much less.

If it was $20 in Chicago I'd only buy 1 sixpack. But it was as low as $16 and $40 for the mini keg.

I've always preferred Two Hearted to Hopslam. But I like Hopslam, and this year's tastes as good as ever.

Only one store around here ever seems to get any so maybe that's why the price is so ridiculous. Plus they know people will pay it.

Market price here is $15.99 a six pack. Not the most spendy in the beer aisle, but close. Our first pair of cans tasted fresher and brighter to me, but memories a year back are not reliable. One of the best, no doubt. I'm happy with the cans, myself.

I think it's worth $18 a six pack but not worth driving to PA get a case, which I used to do. Don't know how easy it is to get a six pack in NY. Haven't had it in 3 or 4 years.

I recall it being predominately sweeter last round. To me it was a tad more bitter up front (not in a bad way), but then again, my memory isn't the best. Wait. What were we talking about?

    So Hopslam, a 10% DIPA, at $18/6 @ .30/oz is expensive.

    Pliny, a 8% DIPA, at $6/16.9oz @ .36/oz is a bargain.

    Got it.

I hope none of you haters are public school math teachers.

I don't know if its that good to warrant a 20+ dollar price tag. I got mine for 17.99 and that was kinda pushing it for me. But I did enjoy this years HS compared to the previous years. If the price keeps going up, I may just have to stick with my CS Spacecake.

So what incredible, seasonal, limited distribution beers are you consuming below this price point?

Or are you simply avoiding these type of beers, which I can't blame you for, but begs the question of why you bother to post or care about these types of beers?

As stated, I've found better beers for cheaper. That's why I don't buy it. Don't care if it's released once a year or every day, I'm not paying that price when I can find something superior for less money.

BUT I am glad you find it worth the money. I wish everybody would find every beer worth the price they pay. Unfortunately, not everybody does.

Don't care to argue it any further.

I posted to give my two cents, since that is generally the point to an internet forum. For people to come together for discussion and opinions.

Edit : Order got a bit scrambled. Still trying to figure this new phone out.

Jesus, now people are complaining about Hopslam being too fresh?
