Bell's Hopslam 2016

I enjoyed last night my first 2016 Bells Hopslam out of a can...wow, I've been drinking so many NE IPA juice bombs that when I took my first sip I was like...Damn that's harsh with alcohol burn and bitterness....but then I realized I've been drinking so much TH and Trillium IPAs that I got accustom to drinking one example of the style.

So then I took a few more sips and I said, this is a great DIPA. They call it HopSlam for a reason. It has that huge pop of bitterness followed by some citrus notes and some alcohol legs. This is a well crafted beer. Cheers to Bells. I have noticed thru my own observations and discussions with my beer brothers that there have been some QC issues over the past couple of years, but I enjoyed my HopSlam last night and I hope everyone else did who spent $20 on a 6pk of cans. Ya I had Probobly a case and a half of celebration this year. Few weeks went by, grabbed one out of my remaining 12 pack and man its so good. So so good

 

World of Beer ohios state campus has 7 six packs of cand of hopslam. Actually i just made it 5 left!

 

Came and went in a mater of a day through syracuse. Sadly I missed out.

 

Picked mine up from Total Wine Altamonte Springs yesterday. Canned 2/3/2016.

I saw it in Richmond VA yesterday. Lots of six packs. $28.49 per six. Little too much for me.

Totally agree. Really nice brew. They should have picked a different name for it. Maybe when it first came out....

 

I have Hop JuJu every year and while it is great I still say Hopslam is better.

 

Listen. I love them both......BUT, if you want that BIG hit you in the face hops,Ju Ju is 4U

 

Follows instructions to the T on the Hopslam mini keg... First pour is 80% foam, 2-5th poured the other day came out great. Next pours dribbled out. Just buy the 6 pack cans, less hassle and better taste per ounce

 

They are all over California....piled high. First time I've seen it distributed here....but $18 for a sixer? They're trying to beat Ballast Point at their own game.

Anyways, very good beer. I enjoyed my sixer, but won't be buying it again. Just too many other great local options, at better price points.

 

comparing Hopslam and Sculpin is like comparing a Tarantino movie to a Disney flick...Hopslam is more entertaining for grown ups. Sculpin is more suited for people seeking a one dimensional boring profile

 

I do enjoy Hop JuJu.

 

Most of the time I don't, JuJu is an exception, but that concept is turning into every brewers way of out doing the guy next to them and a lot of times its unbalanced recklessness.

 

Headed there today for lunch!!! Nothin like fresh Ju Ju from the Tap.........

 

Was referring to the price of Ballast Point vs price of Hopslam. Both are ridiculous.

But lol at you thinking Sculpin is "one dimensional boring profile". Have fun with that.
