Bell's Hopslam 2016

That sweetness though. OMG so good. Lives to hype more than pliny to me. This is my kinda beer

 

I had a side by side of Younger vs Hopslam yesterday, and the Younger absolutely destroyed it.

 

Finished my six-pack a couple days ago. I enjoyed it well enough and I think it is a well made beer. That said, I'm not as big on the sweetness as you...just my personal preferences. I'm not opposed to sweet. For instance, I really like Chillwave which is very sweet. The reason I'm not as big on the Hopslam sweetness is that it is a "vague" sweetness if that makes any sense. It is sweet without much in the way of accompanying flavor. I referenced Chillwave before, which I think has a big tropical fruit sweetness (mango, pineapple,...) whereas I find Hopslam just sweet. And that is certainly OK, many people love Hopslam.

 

I wouldn't be upset if they did!

 

Kind of silly. The Hopslam doesn't even belong in the same room as the Pliny to start with.

Its like comparing a Dragon's Milk to a BCBS. Come on, man.

 

They're both huge IPAs with only 1% ABV difference between them. How is that not a valid comparison?

 

I have to say that this years version is the best I've ever had.

In past I always got a very diacetyl aftertaste from Hopslam. This years is really smooth and flavorful, and the color and lacing are perfect.

 

I'm working in Queens today, Sunnyside to be specific. Just got to this place called Bar 43 up the block from our warehouse and they have Hopslam on tap!!!!! I'm taking an extended lunch today!

 

In Des Moines the Windsor Heights Hy-Vee still has a few packs left.

 

I just popped one open last week for the first time ever. It is way sweeter than I expected.

It may give me Wilford Brimley-level diaabeedus.

 

In the Dan Diego area, the La Jolla Bevmo still had some as of Saturday

 

For anyone in the surrounding Philly area, the Wegmans in KOP put it out today and there's about 2 cases left and going fast.

 

There was a stack of cases out on the floor in Binny's Algonquin yesterday, I watched 3 cases walk out

 

Plenty at Superior in Manitowoc today

 

I'm seeing it all over the place in upstate NY
