It sat for a week or two in KY last year, but everything seems to be going faster this year, so we'll see how it goes. General consensus is that it won't be here until Super Bowl time.

That place is over priced on all their beer. If that's all you can find go for it but if you haven't checked out any of the Meijer's or other grocery stores I would def go there and check, you'll save a few bucks.

 

Had the day off. Drove from the Chicago 'burbs to New Buffalo, MI. Picked up 3 six packs at Barney's market. There was 15-20 cases on the floor when I left this morning at 11AM.

 

never had any, my beer monger has promised to put some aside, another whale down....

 

Where can I find a description of Larry's Stupid Quadripid Citrus IPA? I've never heard of it and at 15% is VERY interesting. I checked Bell's website and it doesn't exist there.

 

Based on their taplist, they describe Larry's Stupid Quadrupid IPA as: Juicy, Tropical, Stone Fruit.

I can't really make out the description for Larry's Stupid Quadrupid Citrus IPA other than: Floral, Resinous, Spicy (Herbs?) and the rest is a blur.

From my experience having both at Funvitational (and again at Bells a short time ago), I found the Citrus to be just that; more juicy with more of a citrus taste than the regular version.

Eh, I think I've officially gotten off the HopSlam train.

 

The beer is the same, YOU have changed. Years ago before there were a million DIPA's Hopslam was ground breaking shit. Now there are a million others that are as good or better. The recipe is the same. I love how people think it is different every year, as if they can remember exactly how a beer tasted a year ago.

This beer has become such a shit show in Metro Detroit. Some guy bought an entire pallet at Meijer. Stores making you buy a case of two hearted just to be able to get a six pack of hopslam. Holiday selling out in 7 minutes. It is a very good DIPA amongst thousands of others, but I do not get the insane amount of hype with this beer.

 

Still waiting down in Delaware!

Haven't seen in St Pete area yet.....found Sixpoint Hi-Res (and CREAM), but no Hopslam yet....couple of years ago it sat for a while....with the much bigger craft beer scene around here now it may sell out quick like other offerings...
