true demand probably hasn't decreased, but the "rarity/hype" I think has. A few years ago the threads would be bogged down with anticipation of the release. This year it seemed to more of be like "yeah Hopslam is out, too bad it isn't as amazing as years past". I think it is also really hard to figure if demand has dropped because the supply has been greatly increased.

Something similar can be said for BT. Though it sells out fairly fast, the Bruery has made much more each year that each release is easier to get than the previous. Along with this the hype has died down along with trade value.

p.s. I am in no way knocking Hopslam. I think it is a great beer, not a great DIPA, but a great overall beer.

I am glad I am not the only person that has found it strange to see plenty of Hopslam on shelves in mid-April. I am going to pose another theory here. I think it is a good. However, is it maybe a little over-rated? Particularly with a price that goes from 12-15+ a sixer, I think it may be worth asking. After buying a sixer or two, maybe drinkers are just spending their beer bucks elsewhere.

This is the first year I've had Hopslam and I thought it was amazing. I can't imagine how good it was before if this is considered a lesser version.

Just so many $17 six-packs I can justify buying. I would love the $12 Hopslam and I would buy more than one a year. Wonderful beer but it is so expensive here and many stores handle it poorly that I am afraid to throw the money down after a few weeks.

    Kalamazoo is dry. Weird.

It wasn't so long ago that pretty much all beer was around for more than a week if not only a day...and it tastes exactly how it has the last several years.

Really? I'm in Rockford, and there's a place that's a five minute walk from me (Poindexter's Specialty Marketplace) that has plenty in stock. I half considered buying them for trade bait as I can't stand IPAs/DIPAs/anything too hoppy.

I could be mistaken, but I thought I saw these at Siciliano's and the International Beverage store as well.

Hmmm, maybe Rockford, but i was just at Siciliano's like Friday and didn't notice any at all. I wasn't looking for it though. Hopefully, if I down some of my stock at home, there will still be some on the shelf. True, there is plenty of other good stuff out there anyway, but I thoroughly enjoyed the Hopslam that I have had so far.

I'm in NE OH & I got a sixer only because I happened to be in the store at literally the same time the distributor's delivery arrived, the store only got two cases which they said was a record low for them. They had it limited it to a sixer per customer (meaning only eight people got in for the whole shipment). Yeah, demand is up.
