Was going to buy a Bell's Mars 2017 sixer but was put off by the 19.99 tag...anyone had it? Any thoughts?
I thought it was a really solid DIPA and just a bit on the malty side. $19.99 is definitely too steep of a price point though.
I bought 2 bottles for people at $4/single (damn single price gougers) - I think the pack price was probably pretty close to $20 here in Indiana as well, for what it is worth.
I think mine was around $18. No price tag, but the total was $30-something and included a couple other $6 items. I had it, and while I enjoyed it, I'm not sure I'm a fan of heavy DIPAs anymore. I picked up a bit of the 10% in the taste, and wasn't a big fan of that. If I was going to be buying $20 6ers more, I'd save it to spend on Hopslam.
I think it's "good". My rating on here from when I tried last week is 4.18. Don't expect world class but it's pretty tasty. Only bought one ($4 I think)and that was enough. I didn't buy another one today when I went to the store. Not sure if that helped but it's good, you'll get a buzz from the 10%, but the $4 is enough for one maybe two. I'm glad I was able to buy a single as there's more id like to try or my other "go-to's" id rather have.
Had it on draft in NYC at an otherwise mediocre bar. I liked it a lot. It definitely is big and it definitely is a touch on the maltier side, which I don't mind (DFH 90 Minute is still one of my favorite beers). If anything, I applaud Bell's for putting something like this out there when it is so out-of-line with current IPA trends. It's a beer that would have been in the BA Top 100 in 2007.
