One of my favorite summer beers. When it comes out, I know the warm weather is almost here.

Agreed. It's a good example of a mundane style, but that hardly justifies all the hype it receives.

Give me a good weizen or witbier any day.

Solsun/Oberon was also my introduction to craft beer. I will always enjoy having one. Had some great times at the release parties.

Haha, I seriously get that all the time. Even the celebrity look a like websites gives me Jason Biggs as my number one. I can't shake it!

It's no Gumballhead, but it'll do in a pinch.

I agree with the changing tastes for sure. My gateway beers taste pretty blegh to me now. But I do put some weight on the fact that friends who dont drink often have noticed a change. I am very excited to see Oberon in cans and I will continue to drink that beer.

I'll echo the sentiments of many here...nice summer session brew, nothing all that exciting though. Drank a lot of these last summer in Florida by the pool when it was 98 degrees out and they did the trick.

I love Oberon and consider it my "gateway beer" as many have stated. One thing that I find odd is that sometimes I'll get a sixer and LOVE it as I should one of my favorite beers. Other times I'll get a sixer and it seems to have a completely different taste to it. I always have good experience with the mini kegs. Wondering if anyone else has had this same experience? Also I wonder if this beer has changed over the years as some have suggested?

It got me into craft beer, so it will always have a spot in my heart (or should it be liver?), but it seems to be off from what it used to be. Still, on a hot summer day, it's always a decent choice...
