Who has the best beer? Bells or Founders

Popcorn (and a beer of course).

Edit: according to our peer reviews, Founders average comes in slightly higher at 4.03, with Bell's coming in at 3.9. Negligible, dependent on style IMO.

Founders might have less clunkers, but they don't attempt the same number of styles that Bell's does.

I love both, so I'd flip a coin.. but I usually always gave the edge to Bell's based on Hopslam and Two Hearted alone..

Not even close - Founders. FIS, FBS, Red's, Porter, Backwoods, D Trouble, Harvest all world class.

Pro Bell's: Two hearted kills Centennial, greater variety than Founders including many great beers, stouts are solid, Hopslam and Black Note, mini kegs.
Con Bell's: Several mediocre beers (Third Coast beer, Lager of the Lakes, Christmas ale, etc), many specialty releases aren't widely released/small production (Consecrator, Oracle), summer is dead for special releases (only Oberon), does unannounced taproom only bottle releases.
Pro Founders: Backstage series (in the past), limited/specialty releases are all top-notch, some great year rounders, top tier barrel program, seemingly more experimental than Bell's, great taproom, KBS.
Con Founders: Small year round lineup which is on the decline now that Red's is gone, Backstage has been on a downslide (IMO), can't think of anything else really.
    My choice: Founders

    short's.
i'm not the biggest fan of bell's or founders. i think they make really good beers, but not great. i like the variety of short's and catalog. not many breweries will brew 120 different beers in a year. they're not all winners but i'll take my chances. just my opinion.

I love Shorts, too, but you can't tell me that Hopslam, Two Hearted, Breakfast Stout, KBS, Expedition Stout, and Founders Imperial Stout aren't great beers. I guess it's all an opinion, though.

I'd say Bell's over Founders. They are much more diverse and their brewpub has a much better tap list year-round.

I prefer Founders to Bells although it is very close. Shorts is solid but a few too many gimmicky beers.

It's personal preference, breakfast stout is tremendous. I think KBS is overrated personally. But that's me. I'm a sour & IPA guy. I don't go crazy for much founders or bell's. I've never sought a bells specialty beer for myself. But I also deal with the breweries themselves, that can change your opinion as well.

Short's. Most innovative/adventurous IMO. Eventually I will make a pilgrimage up there!

I'd say Founders hands down, simply because I've never had a beer from Founders that wasn't excellent (except for maybe FMB).

Bells is very good, and I love the availability and low cost of both breweries, but could you imagine life without FBS, FIS, Backwoods, Porter, and Cerise/Rubeus? They are just awesome, readily available beers when they are in season. That being said, I think I prefer Bells' pale ales and Founders malty brews.

I feel that Founders has an all around better year-round lineup, whereas some of the Bells limited releases are really tough to beat.
