I've got 14 thus far and think it is surprisingly smooth for %10 and at 15.99 a sixer, I would pay 2.75 a bottle all day. When is the last time you got a bomber of something this good for under $5.50?

Unoriginal? He speaks the truth, I'm surprised it took that long for the onion/garlic comment as well.

There was a 1 bottle limit, but it took them a week to sell it all so after a few days they didn't care. I bought the last 8.

It came across as a criticism/snarky remark. It's different this year, and I don't like it as well. That is all.

Sorry man, comment wasn't aimed at you. Just meant to be a little BA humor. These days it seems like every IPA/DIPA thread always gets an onion/garlic flavor comment is all I meant.

I got ya. The only beers I really get that from are Devil Dancer and now this Oracle.

I didn't get it in Oracle but I can definitely see that in Devil Dancer. I think the flavor probably comes from beers that are using huge amounts of hops and you're tasting some residual plant matter. No idea if this true, just my guess.

I have been mellowing Devil Dancer this year, one bottle every month. Its actually getting better as it goes. My last bottle is set to crack in september.

Of the 6 oracle's I got, 1 is getting traded for a Gumballhead and an Anti-Hero, 1 is getting consumed tonight, 2 I will drink soon, and I think I may cold age and then cellar the other for a month or two just to see how the profile changes.

Had a bottle last November (bottled in August 2012) and I was blown away by the Oracle. Just had one dated 8/8/13 and I was a little underwhelmed. I enjoyed it, but found it to be extremely bitter. My tasting group felt the same way...I have a few more to taste so I'm going to give it another whirl. Last years had more dark fruit taste to me....this came across as a hop / bitter bomb. Maybe I'm skewed....need to try again. Drank a growler of Columbus Bodhi afterwards and that DIPA is heaven on earth.

Just a point of discussion....I personally wouldn't trade an Oracle for an Anti-Hero. Don't get me wrong, I like Anti-Hero very much, but I don't think it's a fair trade.

It's for a coworker and fellow beer geek. Today we finished negotiations, and he is including a glass of Doom from last year. We are going to bbq this weekend and do tastings. I'm planning on busting out a cellared Olvade BA Ode as well. He may or may not do a KBS and a bcbs. We will see

capones was selling this for $6 a bottle and I bought one. It was delicious. however at that price, $36 for a 6 pack would be ludicrous. Luckily I found a case of it not too far for around 66 with tax.

Just now getting delivered to stores around Chicagoland. Picked up a single for 2.99, bottle dated 8/9, not sure why it took nearly 3 weeks to travel the 150 miles to get here.

Not a big fan of this, completly one dimentional, nothing but bitter.
