Bell's Saturn

I'm not saying that this is the best BA barleywine out there, but a lot of places sell this for $1.99 a bottle. Name one other good BA barleywine for the same price.

 

I saw that post about Tuesday, that's why I posted it was for sale today. That happened with hop slam too, they run out and then another shipment comes in the next day - just have to be lucky sometimes...

 

Yeah, just strange how someone there on Tuesday would say that unless they just meant sold and not getting any more...for Tuesday. Which makes what they were saying a bit incomplete. Oh well.

 

Damn I drove past the store today after reading the update that they weren't getting any more. Shame on me for not taking the advice of calling...

 

Barrel Chested Barleywine from Upland is another one at around $3 for singles and I actually liked it a tiny bit more than Saturn.

 

$3 is 50% above $2. Just sayin

 

WTF??? Here's the conversation I had.

Clerk: we sold the last 4 bottles early yesterday.
Me: Any chance you'll be getting more in this week? Should I try again in a couple days?
Clerk: No, those were literally the last 4 we'll be getting. Everything else has gone out to distributors. You can try a couple other places in town, I think there's some on shelves but we are totally done.

I hate to be the guy that calls every day, but that's what I may resort to. I specifically decided not to drive down yesterday based on what I was told. Freaking fracking farg!

 

For the record, I haven't gotten any Saturn this year, so I'm pretty pissed about missing out on the GS.

 

Well if they have it, can't you just drive there and get it?

 

Don't have the free time, at least not in the next few weeks. Had time yesterday, but didn't bother based on what the clerk told me on Tues.

 

They still ha cases yesterday when I was there. I was able to get a case no problem. I called ahead and they told me they had some. Good luck to everyone who is searching for it , I hope your able to get some

 

Heh yeah I just called right before I started my drive. I actually don't think the guys at the store even know what they're going to have in the future. They only know what they have right now.

 

I didn't think I would get any as our area never has any of the limited Bell's. I was out of town yesterday and found 3. 6 packs.

 

Nabbed my two sixers the other day. Put three in the fridge to chill. Cracked my first one and it was flat a fack and drain poured it. Noticed some residue around the mouth of the bottle. Probably a bad seal. Opened another bottle and it's very delicious! Had two last night. So smooth!

Was able to get a six pack of it at Market District in Solon (Ohio)... $12.99

Was the last one on the shelf! I am not a fan of barrel aged or barley wines, but I figure it is worth a try. I have friends who will take it off my hands if I don't like it.

 

Indianapolis BAs, there are about 8 cases of Saturn at Whole Foods in Nora (86th street) as of 4:30.
