8 Degrees Plato said on Facebook they ought to be getting it in tomorrow -- er, today (the 15th)... I hope they get it in early. I'll be busy nonstop after about 3... I figure if I go in Thursday at about 3 or 4 they'll have sold out of it by then. I've considered calling and asking for a bottle or two to be kept for me, but I've only been to 8DP once, so it's not like I'm a valued customer.

This Planet Series is stressing me out -- ever since I got Mars I've made it a point to try every beer in the series, even though ever beer since Mars has been underwhelming at best (Venus, Mercury) to about average (Jupiter).

    Done rambling.

Saturn is actually a pretty good brew. I drank mine at about 50 degrees. Pretty bourbon forward with some toasted fig flavor and a lot of vanilla at the end. I might age mine a little to let some of the bourbon fade off.

@Alextricity I just got back from Champane's in Warren, and they had it in. $2.30 a bottle, but I was only able to get two. Make sure to ask the guy at the counter, as it was not on display.

If anyone knows of any shops near royal oak who has any left BM me. Looks like the usual suspects sold out already. Thanks!

Just picked some up at The Wine Seller in A2. $2.50 a bottle/two bottle limit. About a case and a half on the floor.

My memory is beyond horrible, but wasn't everyone and their mother charging like five bucks for a single from the rest of the planet series.

Is anyone else baffled at the price of this brew, a 9 month bbl aged 10%+ beer ($43 a case at bells)?

Just finished another bottle. The more of this beer I drink the more I love it!

Yeah, I think I paid $3-4.50 for Mercury, Venus, and Jupiter. Never saw Mars on a shelf to buy it, I got lucky and happened to be at Bell's the week of the release.

Wish I saw this earlier, I would have gone there rather than almost missing class waiting for another place to get theirs in -- I didn't get a receipt, but adding up the bottles I got that did have prices on them, I think the bottles at the place I got them (8 Degrees Plato) were $2.75-$3 ... I only asked for two bottles. One to have now, one to cellar.

Thanks for the heads up though. I always forget about that place, even though it's about 10-15min closer to my house than 8 Degrees Plato.

Single and double bottle limits, paired with being sick and not running to the store yesterday = no dice on this go around.

Still no sight of this in Chicago. I'm thinking maybe next week, but have nothing to really base that on.

    Yes. I bought a 4th bottle today at $1.99. So an $8 4pk of BBBW. :grimacing: I thought CW BBBW was a steal at $14 a 4pk.

Apparently 8 Degrees Plato sold out within 3 hours... man, am I feeling fortunate. I really hope I can get so lucky with Uranus and Neptune.

    Saturn's nothing short of fantastic.

I called the General Store today. They said they have a pallet left, and are getting more tomorrow. I'll make a pit stop on the way back to Detroit tomorrow afternoon. :sunglasses:

When they charge $43 for a case, it makes it tough to buy any less, right?!
