Anyone know of anywhere that still has some in the Warren, Madison Heights, Royal Oak, Ferndale area?

 

Champanes was sold out by 2pm that day. I have scoured the same areas you have mentioned and all I came up with is one bottle.

 

It's funny, how so many of us (myself included) will call stores, visit stores, check various store facebooks, etc, and spend hours hunting....all when Kalamazoo is only a couple hours away.

Hunting really is part of the fun.

 

Kalamazoo for me is 2hours there and 2hours back plus it would be a waste not to indulge for an hour on their taps so that would be 5hrs spent. Truthfully 2hours after a 10-12hour work day is really about all I can spare on a weekday and by the end of those two hours I probably spent at least 3x what I would have if I would have gone to Kalamazoo because out of 7 shops I end up finding way more other beer than I intended So I guess your right sometimes the hunt really is part of the fun as long as you don't come in with the mindset that beer "x" is the only thing you are there for and nothing else will do.

 

I briefly thought about just hopping on Amtrak from Chicago, getting a case, and heading back.

Then I figured they made enough of it that I'll just wait until it hits Binny's here.

 

I think you'll do fine. Binny's naperville still had a bunch left this morning and sold as singles so should last a while unless someone clears the shelf.

 

I got a case at the general store on my way from Chicago to Detroit today. I'm blown away by the $43 price, out the door. I might be able to make a stop on Sunday for my return trip if anyone really needs some.

 

If anyone is heading from Kalamazoo to metro Detroit, and would like to pick up a case or split a case, I can make it worth your while!

 

$4.99 at Prestige in Downers Grove = should sit for a while.

I love it. Super smooth and nice barrel character. Grabbed a case at Bell's on Sunday evening. Cant beat the price for an 11% BA barleywine.

 

I am just catching up on this thread. $43 at the store?!!. That is bananas. I paid $2.99 a bottle and still feel pretty lucky.

 

Yep. While I wont put it on the same level as BCBBW, I would much rather drink Saturn vs that when you take into account the price you pay for it, and the ease of procuring large amounts. Also need to state that I have only had it on draft at the brewery and not out of the bottle yet, so I need to see if there is any variance.

 

I still haven't been able to find this anywhere yet, seems to be taking a while to get to VA.

 

Why so much sediment that doesn't settle an all my bottles...even on the glass, sediment/flakes still floating 30 mins later...

 

Just picked up a 6 pack. A case would have been cool, but I have been so excited for this offering that I am just happy to have this.

This is smooth. A good "summery" barleywine for sure.

 

I didn't experience this with any of my six.

Scored another 4 bottles by sheer luck tonight, along with a 12 pack of Bells Smitten for $5.99.

I don't necessarily like like Smitten, but $5.99? Can't buy a 12 of anything I'm aware of at that price.

 

I had the same issue, I think you just need to let them sit and/or chill them down overnight. Tasted fine though
