I found Inis and gun rum aged to be quite lackluster proving the point this porter is going to not be great. Inis and gun regular and the new cherry wood aged is amazing so they should have aged the porter on cherrywood or whiskey barrels.

I would argue that the inis and gun jameson aged was a tid bit more flavorful but definitely not as smooth as the rum

I thought Mr Castries was stellar. Big rum flavor, no doubt, but the heat and alcoholic bite was rather subdued.

Gotta love that people think that just because Bells makes a label for a beer...they are gonna bottle it!

    Doubt you will see either.

Are you aware that the minimum to be able to make a new label for a beer at least in MI is 5000$? Now we should look at how much it would Michigan liquor control would up that amount due to the possibility of mass federal distribution...hmmmm

You mean the one which is in distro?

I would argue that your typing skills aren't very smooth either. It's Innis & Gunn. I'm sure the brewery would appreciate you spelling it right.

Are you referring to the BA Cherry stout that is not getting bottled? Cherry Stout is in distro, not BA.

There have been a handful of labels which were approved that we have not seen in bottles yet. I would not be surprised either way.

It's funny you mention a cola quality because the first thing I thought after having Mr. Castries is you could add coke with the overwhelming rum flavor. And I wouldn't say Bretteur was fantastic per se but a very solid offering and glad to see it making to bottles, I wouldn't mind a grabbing a couple.

Has it been in bottles at the General Store? Because there are pictures of bottles of it on Google images.

This was bottled and sold in the General Store a few years ago. The most recent batch, which had a 750ml label approved as mentioned above, has not and will not be bottled. If it is bottled we probably have at least a year or so to wait.

    This is the correct answer.

As for the two BA beers from Bell's, I was wondering when their next round of bottles at the store would hit.

Give me your obscure, your rare,
Your walez, bro, longing to swim free
The barrel-aged and Black Note's heirs,
Send them, on a Nantucket sleigh, to me
I open my mouth and savor the rare.
