I bought a six pack of two hearted a week or so ago. Drank one right away and something tasted off. There is no hop character at all, no aroma, no flavor, just bland. I love this beer, I buy it all the time and can tell something is wrong. I have drank a couple from the six pack and all taste the same. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this recently?

I drank one from the same batch not even a week ago. It just seemed too 'subdued' for me. Definitely didnt live up to the hype it was given, but I don't think I was getting it at its full potential.

Interesting. Around my area, bottle shops and bars have been selling Two Hearted cheap. $8.99 sixers and $3 pint specials at a few places around town.

I purchased some of course and experienced the same type of blandness you mention. Not necessarily bad, just not what I have alwyas known Two Hearted to be. I do not remember the exact bottling date, but I am almost positive it was 4/10/13. I kind of thought something may have been up.

I'm sure it is just either my taste, or a brewing anomaly!

A bad Two Hearted? Crazy sentence.

    That's extremely unfortunate.

Had a batch that was off recently, bottled 5/14.... Hops were fine, malt tasted almost burnt like overboiled home brew... Still drank them, but was a little saddened as it was my first experience with bad Two Hearted. However the batches I got dated 5/21 and 5/28 have been just as great as ever.

Did you call Bells? If so what response did you get? I have one bottle from 5/14 left that I am just not drinking because of the good batches I purchased.

Was it also kinda salty tasting? I had Two Hearted on draft that was bland and sort of salty tasting.

I'm drinking 5/7 right now and it's pretty awesome.

I bought a 6-pack of Two Hearted a couple weeks ago that was batch 11914 and bottled on 04/09/13, and I thought the same thing -- just not the regular peak flavor to it.

That's wonderful news, but that's not the batch in question :stuck_out_tongue:

I sent Bell's an email. If I hear back, I will post their reply.

I received an email back from Bell's.

I was impressed with the response and wiil be happy to send them a bottle. It sounds like they really care about the product they are distributing and that's good to see.

Bell's takes QA/QC pretty seriously. It's a good thing that you actually contacted them and are willing to send in your bottle instead of anonymously bashing them on the internets. I am glad that they got back to you so quickly and hope you get a resolution. Don't give up on Two Hearted, it really is one of the best year around IPAs. I actually thought that the last few batches that I have had were noticably above average.

It's great that they are sending you a box to ship it back to them. That's a brewery that cares about their beer. I feel like a lot of breweries would just shrug and say "oh well once it's out of the brewery it's out of our hands." Good for them, and hopefully you'll get some free stuff out of it as well

I'm just 10 miles away -- I'll take a bottle back to them. Was there a person's name in your e-mail reply?

Wanted to give another update. Saturday I received a package from Bells along with a note thanking me for contacting and sending them beer. They also apologized for my negative experience. The package contained some Two Hearted goodies. Overall I am impressed with Bell's customer service and will continue to purchase Two Hearted.

That's great. I just wish the rep's for bell's cared half as much as whomever took care of you. Breweries should take care of customers that have issues.
