Your "mediocre" example is listed a "good" here and most recent reviews are in the 3-4 range. If you filter by only reviewd it rates quite well. That hardly sounds "mediocre" to me. Not all beers have to be 95+

"(Overall) A fantastic Witbier that would make a very tasty ale in the dead heat of the summer months. Very clean, flavorful and balanced all calls for a highly drinkable beer. Comes close to matching some of the world's most prolific Witbier recipes. Recommended. 4"

People hate the Boatswain Double IPA that you get at Trader Joes, and to be fair, I only had it once, but I remember liking it pretty well, especially for the 2 bucks it cost me. I'd drink it again.

I also didn't find it offensive. I've drank a lot worse

Always have a soft spot for Molson Canadian. And I'll never turn down a Saranac christmas mixed pack. None of the beers are better than good/above average, but I'll drink through one at the holidays without issue.

Nice to hear that term carries over to New York. It is a right of passage for young men form Detroit to cross the Canadian border for a night of Molson Bradors at the Windsor Ballet

Used to bring home cases of Brador and Molson Dry when I was in college. Still confused why dry beers never took off here, Molson Dry is a good beer.

Negro Modelo is almost everywhere here and I quite enjoy it at times.

The next time you have a party and need a cheapie give it a shot- make sure to get the closed 12-packs, though.

Agreed ... Always closed 12 packs when it comes to green or clear bottles. I think that's why I enjoy Moosehead and Heineken like I do.

I don't think I've ever had a non-skunked Moosehead- that one always seemed particularly susceptible.

A friend brought me a 12 pack as thank you for helping him move. I was a little leery at first. Got 'em chilled and they were pretty good. Better than I remembered, so now they're a go-to. I don't know what it sells for in your area, but here it's 7.99 a 12 pack. Maybe that price point keeps 'em moving?

That's a pretty nice price. I'll keep it in mind for the next shindig where I need something like that. Thanks.

Mickey's Malt Liquor, but only in the wide mouthed barrel bottles with the rebus puzzles under the caps. Those puzzles were great icebreakers, and source of amusement at parties, especially after everyone had a few beers! I don't see them too often but can rarely resist picking up a sixer when I do.

Seems I've been drinking a lot of this lately, plus its only $4 for a 4pk of 16 ouncers. Tasty stuff.
Yuengling Lager is a always popular in my garage fridge.

I really miss Bud American Ale, so tasty, so unappreciated. Rest in peace my friend, I will always remember you.

Others are Steel Reserve, Mickey's & High Life.

    Shiner Bock.

And I'll always have a soft spot for PBR.

And more recently Suntory since I've moved to Shanghai. It's the best cheap beer I can find.
