I will be in Bend, OR Thursday through Sunday this week.

Wondering where any good bottle shops will be near the Phoenix Hotel? Or just in the Bend area?

Also, what are some great shelf turds to be looking for.

Lastly, and I know this is last minute. But anyone want any Bourbon County(11 or 12) for some fun PNW brews?

    Thanks!

    Bottle shops:
    The Brew Shop
    Broken Top Bottle Shop
    Newport Market

That's about it for shops. Whole Foods, too. But it's away from the downtown area.

Shelf turds? I always see Ching Ching sitting down there at Newport Market.

Broken Tops is seconded. The owners were extremely engaging, kind, and generous when my girlfriend and I were there a couple months ago.

Brew Shop is a lot cheaper than Broken Top, but BT tends to have stuff you can't find anywhere else, not even Portland.

Agreed. You'll definitely find some gems here. And the vegetarian/vegan food options are excellent.

I find them to be pretty comparable when I remember that Broken Top prices are listed for in-house consumption, so it's 10% less if you want an apples to apples comparison with the Brew Shop. The Brew Shop has a broader selection, but Broken Top seems a bit better curated, and they make trips to get stuff they want that's not distributed here. Bend is small enough that Whole Foods being on the other end of town from Broken Top only means a 10 minute drive (and the Brew Shop is halfway between on the way).

Broken Top was charging $20 for bottles of standard Logsdon releases... a 10% discount doesn't help much when they were $10 at Brew Shop.

Fair enough, that's a big difference. I don't think that's representative of the relative pricing overall, though. The OP is close enough to hit both shops and compare.

$20 is pretty outrageous. How do they get away with that in Bend? $10 is standard around here.

After you're done bottle shopping, you should pull up a seat at Brother Jon's on Galveston and order a Buffalo Mac N Cheese and a RPM. It really doesn't get much better than this.

Stopped by today to get another look. Seizoen, Kili Wit, etc. were $12, Cerasus, Oak Aged Seizoen were $22. Maybe a bottle got put back in the wrong row making it appear the standard beer was higher price?

And then walk across the street to Growler Phil's to get some beer to go.

I remember Seizoen Bretta being $22. It's $9.99 in Seattle. Kinda blew my mind.
