I know, I know, there is probably already a thread (or 12) on this but I really suck at searching the forums...going to Bend in about a month and trying to find the most updated trip reports and suggestions so I dont miss any of the good new spots... Also, any suggestions on how to search for threads would be recommended

Assuming you aren't pulling my leg... type in Bend in the upper right hand corner search window, and you'll see a default for "this forum only." Hit the prompt and you should be good to go. There are a lot of recent threads discussing spots to visit in Bend.
Playpus Pub, Crux, Silver Moon, Crows Feet Commons, Jackson's Corner, Bend Brewing, The Lot, Boneyard and Broken Top Bottle Shop.
Plus, the "Visiting" threads for SEA, PDX, and Bend rarely fall off the front page of the NW forum. If the Bend thread isn't on the front page, it will be on the 2nd page. Make sure you hit Hood River either on your way to, or from, Bend. Jump across the bridge and visit Everybodys Brewing in White Salmon WA. Great view of Mt. Hood.
I'll have to give it a try next time I'm up there. I just got the cheese plate version of this when I visited a year or so back, and was completely underwhelmed. It wasn't bad, but the cheese selection was something of a disappointment I thought.
