Thinking of coming to Bend in the next few weeks ( while the Santiam Pass is still OK).
Been to Bend many times but its been years since I did the beer thing.
I know the big pubs are kid friendly: Deschutes, Bend Brewing etc.
The newer ones not so sure. Any new places kid friendly?
Also any good moderate priced hotels with indoor swimming pools, for the kid?
I stayed at The Red Lion last time.
And one more thing good taxi service..no dirt bags in dodgy motors ?

Will check on hotels w/ indoor pools, but you're cool with kids at just about every brewery until 8 or 9 at night (Boneyard excepted). Taxis are rare enough (in my limited experience) that I'd have to check on that too. I know they're here, but It's been a while sice I visited bendtaxiadvocate.com.

Bend is ridiculously kid friendly. Other than Boneyard, I can't think of a brewery that doesn't let kids in. Boneyard isn't really a place to hangout, so them not letting kids in isn't a dealbreaker.

No clue on hotels, we either stay with friends or rent a house.

Crux is a go to for my family visits to bend. They have a big grass area with balls and such. It feels like a picnic with a fine beer menu. The cold weather will make the place seem a lot smaller but until then the outdoor area is fantastic.

Cyclepub.com and bendbrewbus.com, depending on how much or little physical exertion you want to put toward getting around town.

Hotels with indoor pools are commonplace. The Hampton Inn across the river from the Old Mill district is brand new, so would likely have the freshest/cleanest rooms, but lots of other options from chains and independents too. The soaking pool at McMenamins Old St. Francis is pretty cool.

My wife handled the taxi arrangements when we did the Ale Trail last month, but I'm pretty sure we used Bend Cab Co. Clean vehicles and prompt service.

We were in Bend a couple weekends ago and got a pretty nice 2x bed/2x bath house for $130 a night. It was within a 5 minute walk to Crux and less than 10 minute walk to downtown.

Other friends had a smaller house for only $90/night.

I was so surprised that I don't know that I will stay in hotels anymore unless there are no other options.

    Fo' real.

We have a regular place we always rent via AirBNB. Three bed, three bath, nice backyard and just a short walk to 10 Barrel and downtown.
