Quite possibly the best beer this BA has ever had

 

Oh and the word is that the release is still on schedule for January.... but it sounds like there they have not blended the beer or bottled yet... so to me it sounds like late January distro.. distro should be strong in Duluth with some distro in the Twin Cities ... bottom line Twin Cities people don't fuck around or you will miss out and regret it.. this is a beer of epic proportions

 

Will this be sold at the taproom

 

The tentative answer seemed to be yes.. but they did not seem 100% of. The plan for that as of yet.. but based on the conversation .. I am thinking yes on tap at some point but growlers may be less likely.

Any Bottle count on this yet?

 

It will be the same as the last batch of the regular BA double black that saw distro. . With more focus on the Twin Cities than last time. but not sure how many that was..

 

So this is going in bottles next week. As soon as bottles are filled it's going out for distro. It will be on tap at the bruery. Bottles will be on sale at bruery. But no growler fills.

 

So I have to go to California to get this?? Ha! I kid, I kid

 

Anyone have any intel on this one and the potential date it will drop this week? I've tried to read this thread a couple times a week so I don't miss it. Do they usually release on a certain day of the week?

 

I'll be in Duluth on 1/30. Hoping this is released before then and lasts until I'm there. How long did Double Black last at the tap room?

 

It could be a totally different from last year, but I seem to remember that it lasting for a while. In fact, I think Vanilla sold out before Double Black and I had someone get me a few bottles before the Lift Bridge Irish Coffee Stout release last year in March. I also remember hearing Double Black sitting around for some time longer than the tap room at stores in the area.

 

you are right, I saw it at keyport liqour in superior months after the release... who knows this year though.

 

double black and vanilla cold press were around for a bit. want to say 2-3 months. but Bent Paddle was still off the radar for most people. bottles that hit the metro market disappeared fairly fast. not to mention Double Black was a stellar beer last year, only adding to the hype this year.

 

I could see double shot double black hitting the top 250 some day.. regular ba double black really is not at the same level at all. It sat around in Duluth for quite some time last year.

 

Anybody hear anything yet?

 

I called the taproom today and the guy told me that we should see this released in 2 or 3 weeks. He said they just got a new bottling line installed, so that is probably part of the reason for the delay.
