Was better in Dec 2013 and 2014 when they had bottles of Vanilla Cold Press at the brewery only. Plenty of demand in the area, no need to send it to distribution and spread it so thin.

All good points. I suggest lots of Vanilla, Double Black, and Double Shot for next year.

It's getting harder and harder to get a bottle of these popular releases if you work a 9-5. I'm just hoping to find this on tap at some point so I can try it. Stuck in meetings all day with no breaks

I know the feeling. I stopped at Westside Liquor in Waite Park. They were supposed to get 12 bottles, and they thought it might arrive this afternoon. Hopefully there's one left when I get done with work at 8.

I agree. The irony is the fact that every bottle is accounted for on an online forum for people to see. As soon as it walks into a store it is posted and anyone close or remotely close with any interest in a beer grabs it.
In the past I would go out and grab the beers I wanted when they came out. Now it's a chase or a hunt for them. Luckily I run between locations for work. Right before I leave a sight, I check this forum to see if I need to stop somewhere for a special bottle.
While it is nice, it gives anyone with internet access and interest the tools they need to get these beers more easily.

Next release, try not posting where the beers are; start personal conversations or something. I guarantee the beer lasts a little longer

Just a thought, or get a really good relationship with your favorite bottle shop!

Wait a hot minute I thought nobody shopped at Total Wine! For fucks sake this beer is more difficult to get than BCBCS.

fully agree that social media and forum posting can make it a bit more difficult. as you kind of commented, it also helps others. its a tough fight. ive been flamed a few times for my amount of posting and fully understand peoples points and have since restricted myself a bit.

in contrast, its a much harder hunt these days. the draw for local craft brews is big. especially barrel aged. take today, two accounts sold out extremely fast. f44 and top 10. no social media posts and both locations not even mentioned on here today until it was gone. the unknowns of this release made the peoples desire even stronger. the extremely quick sellout at the brewery didnt help either.

I understand your frustration. I think the amount of lurkers and new BA's has increased tremendously over the past year and everyone takes advantage of the info posted quickly but, I'm pretty sure this is the whole point of the bottle hunt thread....

Will anybody post a picture of their face exploding if they get shut out? Looks to be a lot of newcomers to the scene for this "got to have it".

Happily stepping out of the chase for this one. Hoping I'll get it on tap somewhere, but I'm not going to pay BA darkness prices for these bottles.

Hard to get with the small batch and all the info avalible to anyone online.. but I still think this beer may eventually outshine all of the other BA beers made in MN

I know it has. I've had chats with multiple people who got multiple BA Darkness and they credited this thread but they literally never post on here, just lurk.

Me and you both. I don't know what everyone else does for work but I can't afford $50 for two bottles of beer this week. Then $80 for 4 bottles of Before the Dawn next week. And that's in addition to the $75 for Casanova last weekend.

If Assassin gets distributed then I'll be chasing trucks like the rest of you but I just don't see the appeal for an unknown beer from an unhyped brewery that you know you'll be able to get on tap all over the twin cities and duluth or taste at a share since all of your friends chased down 6 bottles, lol. As long as @holzwama gets a bottle there's no reason for me to chase

Some of us have had this beer at ABR, or other festivals, over the past 2 years which may be why some are chasing this dragon. It is truly a phenomenal beer (keeping the hype train chugging along).
