    Press Release from Friday:

BENT PADDLE BREWING CO. RELEASING TO THE TWIN CITIES
Upcoming Brewery Expansion to Allow for Increased Distribution
DULUTH, MN - NOV 8, 2013 - After just 6 months of brewing for the Twin Ports region, Bent Paddle Brewing Co. will be distributing to the Twin Cities craft beer market starting Wednesday November 13th 2013. The release will be limited to five liquor stores that had expressed interest in the brewery before the company opened. Those stores include The Wine Thief & Ale Jail (St. Paul), Elevated Beer + Wine + Spirits (South Minneapolis), North Loop Wine & Spirits(Downtown Minneapolis), Stinson Wine, Beer & Spirits (NE Minneapolis) and The Four Firkins (St. Louis Park). Contact individual stores for availability.
Initial 12oz can 6-pack offerings to include the current flagship beers: Venture Pils, Bent Hop and Black Ale. Bent Paddle plans to increase the number of liquor store accounts and draft accounts as their production capacity increases throughout the upcoming year.
Bent Paddle Brewing Co. opened in May 2013 with a production capacity of 4500 barrels per year. They are awaiting the arrival of three new 90bbl fermenters and one 120bbl brite tank in early December to bring their production capacity to 8000+ barrels per year. With this increase in production capacity, Bent Paddle brewing will continue to supply its enthusiastic Twin Ports market while at the same time introducing their beers to the greater region.

It's not a black IPA, it's a black ale. Probably closest to a porter. Not that hoppy, more malty. Just reviewed it last night.

No worries. The Black Ale is very solid, haven't had anything else out of their lineup, but looking forward to trying the IPA and Pilsner.

I love Black. I hate coffee and yet really like the Cold Pressed one too. Don't remember much about the others, though thought they were solid. Can't wait.

Just did a blind taster with Bent Paddle IPA vs Surly Overrated. Bent Paddle was a decisive winner. It definitely fit my tastes for an IPA much better than Overrated. Overated reminded me of Green Flash a little and I'm going to do those two next..(edit: Just looked at my review of Overrated from about a year ago and I had the same Green Flash comparison in mind then too)...I digress....Bent Paddle IPA top notch in my book...

So Bent Paddle has bottled up some of their Vanilla Cold Press Black. I really hope some of this makes it to the metro. I haven't had the Vanilla but the regular cold press is really good.

Bent Paddle is a great addition to the local brew scene in Minneapolis. First tried them at the All Pints North fest and loved their cold press and IPA. Picked up both the black ale and Golden IPA and both are just really enjoyable brews.

Got some black ale and golden IPA at a bait shop in McGregor over the weekend, which made me pretty happy. Black ale was a lot better than I expected it to be, is this stuff all over in the cities or just select shops?
