What did you expect the Black Ale to be?

I for one commonly associate black ale with a Black IPA by another name. Thankfully the bent paddle black ale is really good, unlike Black IPAs (IMO)

As @MCImes said, I absent mindedly expected a black IPA and was pleasantly surprised to get a smooth chocolaty porter.

Now that it is, did you pick up any?

Got two packs today. Now I just have to wait for the rugrats to go to bed to try them.

From a tweet, looks like we will be seeing plenty. The place I went today only got a few cases, but said 15 cases will be arrive tomorrow. Sounds like it will be a seasonal and available for a while.

It was always year round at the brewery taproom. Hopefully the same for cans and distribution. Glad Duluth Coffee Company was able to ramp up production for Bent Paddle!

Interesting, I was under the impression that it was limited even at the brewery.

I think that I heard somewhere that Bent is planning on using Cold Press in their seasonal series along with Daypack and Paddle Break Blonde. So hopefully we have it around all winter. : )

I asked them via the Twitter and they said there was more Cold Press to come

Is Cold Press available in the TC area? What's the southern most store that carries Bent Paddle?

    Yes.

I would just go to thier site and do the beer finder.

Not sure it is the most southern, but Top Ten in Cottage Grove and Woodbury carry it. Otherwise a descent amount near Mpls/St Paul.

I did indeed pick some up yesterday along with the Summit fresh hop and both are very delicious.

I know what cold press means wrt coffee, but what does it mean for beer? Does this just mean they are adding cold-pressed coffee?

i loved this at winterfest, but the couple cans i've had have been pretty boring. not bad, just boring. coffee bender is a much better choice when i want a coffee beer.
