Bent Paddle

Unless they have more cases somewhere, I got the last two at North Loop. They were just sitting on the counter. The sales people didn't say anything about that being the last of them, but I didn't see any more

 

$19.99 at S Lyndale. 2 bottle limit. Looked to be a couple cases left about an hour ago.

 

$20 at the brewery.

 

Fingers crossed, but it looks like we might at some point get the Double Shot, Double Black from ABR this year as well.

 

With news like this, I now have to rewrite my thanksgiving prayer...

 

Anyone want to share what they thought of the Double Black?

 

Anyone know if this is going to be on tap around the Twin Cities?

Rum River Wine and Spirits in Ramsey is out. Their other location may have it though.

 

It was good. Very bourbon forward, but not really "hot". A little thin on the body. I was honestly expecting it to be better since I love black ale and pretty much everything Bent Paddle does. Nowhere near a miss, but just very solid to good.

 

I loved it. Super big Bourbon bomb. Very rich and silky. I didn't find it thin.
Only knock is the 4 pounds of wax they used on the bottle.

 

I just opened mine and found it to be very heavy bourbon, light body, rich and silky. Didn't change my life but a great beer none the less. It's almost identical to the CS Loonidragon IMO.

 

The bourbon tones are definitely strong in this one. Bourbon forward but not really hot as stated by Herman. This beer will definitely warm you up with whatever the ABV is though. And this is an Ale not a stout correct? So I don't think its thin at all. For what it is, it's pretty well made IMO. $20 a bottle in Duluth at the brewery and Cashwise. Having had this beer on tap twice at the brewery, I say it is definitely worth seeking out at $20 a bottle.

 

Verrrrrry similar to Bourbon County, I'd be clueless in a blind taste test between the two.

 

A stout is an ale man...

 

Saw it at multiple places this morning when out on my hunt for BCBS. Still a lot around.

 

Anyone that could possibly offer some insight as to where I might find some BA Double Black still available and nearest to the Chaska/Eden Prairie area? Every place I went to this morning in my BCS chase said Bent Paddle doesn't make it out this far. Cheers and thanks in advance for any responses.

 

I would doubt you would find it in that area. The longest serving clients of BP got the cases. I stopped by Blue Max and while they have cans of BP, the were not on the list to get Double Black, too new of an account.
