I'm just gunna chim in for a bit. The Owners and Head brewer all are all accomplished home brewers with with a bigger set up now. They have been paying strick attention to detail in the beers they have been making for years. I can see how 8 taps might seem like alot, but I can assure everyone there will be tasty treats flowing. As they start to get things rolling to the public they plan to be active on beermenus.com and if you check out their website it will have some neat info about what's on tap. Check em out on April 16th at noon.

    Excellent
We needed someone to come on here and be a shill for them.
While I want this to be good
The fact that they are all homebrewers with no professional experience doesn't bode well.
At least it gives me an excuse to stop by white mana.

Yeah while I'm happy for hopefully something good, I am very cautious. Brix city still has no idea what they are doing and was started by two home brewers.

Agree with both of you guys. Homebrewers going straight to pro production hasn't been the best recipe for success for most new breweries these days. Sure, there definitely are outliers, but for the most part it rings true.

It's funny, 5-8 years ago most new breweries were being opened by people who had at least a few years worth of experience at the pro level at other well established craft breweries. Or at the very least an internship or significant course study at Siebel or UC Davis. These days it's homebrewing = brewery. But I guess that's the result of the craft boom.

Anyway, the one thing that gives me hope for The Alementary is that the owners come from an engineering and biology background. That leads me to believe that quality and consistency are in their nature which should help translate to making good beer. We'll see. But I stand pat on my opinion that 8 beers right out of the gate is simply too much. The question isn't if you can make those 8 beers great for your grand opening. The question is can you make those 8 beers great every single time you brew them for the next year or more. That's tough for any brewery, let alone one just opening its doors.

I am obligated to go to Wallington fairly often for family stuff, now I have somewhere else to stop on the way and make it more "worth my while"

This is my main problem with Demented Brewing. I really want to like these guys, since it's the closest brewer to me but they have WAY too many beers without any of them being excellent.

How about we just reserve judgement until after we sample some of their beer?

This is Beer Advocate actually tasting the beer is not a prerequisite to being adamant about your opinion said beer.

Won't be there for the opening since I'll be moving to Bergen County. Plan on hitting this place up in the next few weeks. Will check back to see what everyone's thoughts of the beers are.
