Women love wine coolers, why I do not know. They are like drinking a punch style Koolaid. But my girl and I tried a beer called Wild Blue last year and thought next to a wine cooler why ever drink a wine cooler again. The flavor is nothing like a beer but the buzz from it is overwhelming. A very potent beer, but nothing like you would expect. It has a very smooth taste, a reddish color when pored and goes down fast. But beware, after three you may have a hard time going to the fourth.
We recently tried a new beer from Shorts Brewery out of Bellaire Michigan called Soft Parade! Yum Yum. When I first tried it it reminded me of Wild Blue. I then pored some into a glass and the color was similar to Wild Blue, in color and taste.
I suggest anyone that likes wine coolers, wine, beer and alcohol drinks to give this unique beer a try. And if you want to give a lady a good beer, I highly suggest either or. I guarantee if they like wine coolers they will love a berry beer.

I'm not sure that you'll get many comments since your post is in the Brewerania forum, and likely should have been in the Beer Talk forum.

Wild Blue is a product from Anheuiser Busch so it does not get much love on this site because of a bias toward any of the major brewers of the fizzy yellow stuff. So I would not expect many favorable comments about Wild Blue from responders to your post. You can go to the A-B page on this site and read the comments about this beer too.

I'm not a fan of fruit beers myself, although I've tried a modest amount, including both beers that you mention. Fruit beers are interesting, and those beers typically draw the drinkers who don't like the malted grain or hops flavors. If I remember correctly Wild Blue does a bang up job masking those flavors almost as if it is a blueberry syrup. I personally like the malt and hops flavors in a beer so that the only fruit beers that I seem to appreciate are the ones that have only slight fruit notes in the background.

That being said, there is an entire other fruit beer style when you start talking about Belgian Lambics. Now those beers will get a beer geek talking favorably about fruity beers. But Wild Blue (or Soft Parade) is not in that category.

Moved. This is why instead of wasting time mentioning that something is wrong with a post we flag it.

Dogfish Head Black and Blue is an excellent fruit beer (blueberry & blackberry) if you can find it.

What Chad said. They do fruit beers better than anyone.
