Just curious how you can tell which year Berserker is? Is it by the alcohol content or some other marking on the bottle? any help would be much appreciated. So i can make sure what year my bottle is. Thanks
Not sure about Berserker specifically, but on arctic devil, the year recently was on the front logo, and older ones had the little tic marks next to the numbers on the edge of the label.
optophobia is right. No year and the tic marks on the side designate month and week only not year. Label from my cellar reads 12.7 abv 30 ibus and for what it's worth, bottled on tic reads November 2nd week.
SO no one knows how to determine a year on this bottles? Are you just supposed to guess if you have a 2010,2011??
Assuming that it has not been bottled on the exact month and week number every year, there is probably a way to backtrack for people who have earlier vintages based on the label tic. There was no 2011 release, and the 2010 release was week 2 of November. I don't have earlier vintages so I can't comment on those.
So since there was no 2011 release then its prob a 2010 right? Or can anyone confirm that they made this beer BEFORE 2010?
The easiest way to approximate when a beer was first bottled is to look at the earliest BA reviews. In this case, 2005 appears to be the first release which was 10.4% ABV. I think it switched to 12.7% ABV in 2008. Yours is likely 2010, but I suppose it could be 2008 or 2009 if there is no discernable label notch on the lower right edge.
