    Re: Unibroue-
Sure, and that was addressed above in Jack Horzempa's post, but I suppose it depends on what the Op's intentions are. I don't think it makes much difference in any practical sense since we are talking about beers that are essentially derived from the Belgian styles either way. Plus being trucked in from Quebec isn't all that different from an American brewer shipping to a different region of the country, so the logistics are comparable. I also don't think American ownership matters, because Ommegang was mentioned in the first post. I guess we could use some clarification either way, though.

Always remember you have your favorites, but there is no best beer/brewery

(eluding to the fact that Brewers Art is one of my favorites among some that have already been mentioned).

Unibroue is owned by Sapporo, so if Ommegang and Boulevard cant count, than neither can it. But I think that curtailing of what can count is kind of silly.

Now entirely, but not entirely when it started up. Duvel Mortgat was one of the original investors but not sole owner.

Though I don't often buy Ommegang or Jolly Pumpkin. And I give Boulevard a leg up over the other three on the basis of their non-Belgian stuff (Rye on Rye, 80 Acre, etc).
