Gotta say...I was pretty disappointed with this one. Weyer usually does everything pretty well, but I didn't really care for it. Now I have a bunch I don't wanna drink. :slight_frown:

Eschaton by Wild Heaven brewing in Georgia is really nice. Better than Three Philosophers, imo.

I have a bomber of Trois Pistoles in the fridge, so am eager to try it. Allagash Four is outstanding but I can't get it in TX. Just tried Three Philosophers this past weekend, it's my fave so far. But the only Belgian I've had is St Bernardus Abt 12, so I'm still in the experimental stage. Just love the style though.

Definitely Boulevard BBQ and Victory's V-12. Pretty Things Baby Tree is good too.

So, I had to go back to my ratings to see what my highest rated American Quad was... Three Philosophers.

Wow, over 90 posts and no one has chimed in stating that a Quad isn't a real style.

3 Philosophers for me I guess. But it's way behind Abt 12 or Rochefort 10. I like BBQ but it's real sweet. Stickee Monkee is awesome, what it might be. It developed more like a Quad after a year, fresh it was more like a barleywine.

Stickee Monkee has been my favorite, followed by BBQ. But honestly, the one I liked most (non-barrel aged) was Skipping Stone from Jackie O's. I really dug that beer, so much so that I got a pour of it after having a taster at the bottle release I was at. Can't even remember when that was, maybe 2014? It's been a while, though.

And if you want rare, you can try to track down a bottle of that beer that was aged in Pappy barrels

Mystic Last and Final Judgement is my favorite, but as many have said Three Philosophers is my favorite that is readily available.

I'm a fan of Destihl's Quad myself (assuming we aren't throwing BA quads into the mix)

This thread inspired me to pick up a bottle of Blasphemy. Had it last night and it was fantastic. Next time I hit the store I might grab a couple more to cellar. What's the recommended aging time to get the best bang? Would a year suffice? The only other beer I've ever aged was Mad Elf and I find one year to be sufficient.
