Best American Saisons

Every single wild/blend/gose/saison are all incredible and all home runs. Definetly get on making a trade for somethere stuff, you will not be dissapointed.

 

I'm a fan of Funkwerks, Monkish, Prairie and Mystic.

 

Allagash is probably my favorite US saison.

 

Hard to beat Prairie saisons, Funkwerks or Boulevard's Tank 7.

i know youve mentioned wild type saisons, but the title of the post suggests you might be interested in non-wild saison as well, and i have to put a plug in for the blackberry farm stuff out of tennessee. ive only had a few of their beers, but they have all been beautifully executed and wholly unique. absolutely worth the 16 or so bucks they fetch for a bottle

 

Brooklyn Sorachi Ace and Ommegang Hennepin are two of my mainstays. Boulevard Saison Brett I thought was exceptional. And if you want something a bit off the trail, check out Selkirk Abbey in Idaho. Their saisons were really on the mark and I was stoked to bring some back east last year.

 

Another vote for Prairie, Tank 7, Hennepin, Hill Farmstead, Casey, Crooked Stave.

That said, buy Belgian.

Hennepin, Im not a huge fan of everything Ommegang does but this one deserves credit as a top tier beer.
Yards does a pretty spectacular Saison as well if you are looking for something a bit more tart.

 

Simply cannot go wrong with the oft mentioned Hennepin and tank 7. Easy to find and decent values. Peppery salad, bbq, Thai food, spicy food, funky cheeses...all great food matches

 

I know this is about great saisons but I would like to warn everyone about Smuttlabs Chestnut Saison. Ugggh. On my list of Smutty fails, right next to Zinneke.

 

I haven't really had a lot of American saisons, but Ommegang's Hennepin was pretty tasty

 

Saison de Ble. I got 8 bottles planning to trade some away. NOPE! Too good. Kept every single one.

What do you guys like so much about Tank 7? I had it a couple times and wasn't a fan.

As of recent Flying Dreams - Dreaming Of Summer

 

The Imperial Saison Tropic King from Funkwerks (Fort Collins) is super tasty. Had a couple when I was out in the Colorado in October. There saison program is on point.
