Hi, my cousin is living in Melbourne for the last 2-3 years. He tolds me that aussie beers were very good. I would like him to ship me beers but I am not sure he likes craft beers. It seems like if I knows the bigger brewery most than the other. Could you help me to find the best craft beers from Australia and New Zealand, available in Melbourne area ?

I am a very big fan of hoppy beers: ipa, dipa, hoppy saison. I also like a lot sour beers, imperial stout, saison and any barrel aged beers.

What are you suggesting me ? Wich brewery ? Wich beers ?

Thanks a lot for your time !

    Cheers

    Marc

Moo Brew vintage Ale @ $25 a crack for the Oak aged beer. Not a lot of BA beers (bourbon) being done here.
    Nogne/ Bridge Roads India Saison
    Bridge Roads Saison
    Hargraves Hill Phoenix or RIS
Mornington Peninsula RIS is quite solid

I really would not have any IPA's or DIPA's sent out to you due to freshness issues. Go big

Thanks mulder1010 ! Do you know a good beer store in Melbourne where he could easily grab me some of them !?

As shipping may takes 2-3 weeks, I would be curious to try some of your IPA's even if I know that they won't be super fresh, what are your suggestions ?

Do you know or heard any good things about Temple Brewing !?

Can you guys easily have access to 8th Wired beers !?

    Thanks again !

Best bet in Melbourne will be Slowbeer or Purvis Cellars. The IPA issue is less the 2 weeks to get them to you but more than they have already been on the shelf for 2 months.

Temple is good. They have a nice saison in bottles and their collaboration with Weihenstephan is good.

8wired is available but expensive like everything else.

I will add that shipping from Australia to the US may be surprisingly expensive. It will be something like $200 for a case. You also risk it not getting through customs in the US which could make it an expensive mistake.

or if they are in a fridge or not is just as much the case here.
That being said I would suggest Feral Hop Hog, Jamieson the Beast IPA, the Epic and 8 wired IPA's.
Purvis, slowbeer, and Chapel Street Cellars are the best for Melbourne.
Expect to pay $100 to ship 6 to you in Quebec. Canadian customs are almost worse than US and love incorrect filled out customs forms.

It is illegal to ship alcohol into and around the US, so that is likely your problem
